5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!
Bought this for my nephew who is a big fan of the series and he loved it! Lots of great facts and insights. The author clearly knew a lot. Great job!

Pathetic. Sad. Lame. Disappointing... The list goes on. I was a big Eragon fan when I was given this book(before the movie came out and completely destroyed the storyline) and I was very exited to get it for Christmas. I was startled when I opened the book and found out that the introduction was just an argument about why faeries must exist in the real world. This feeling quickly changed to disappointment as I found that the book's main goal was to show how Eragon's magic didn't match with how the person writing the guide sees it is in their version of reality. This guide is a waste of time... unless you want to learn about a paste that you can make with poppy sap and put on your eyes to see faeries.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not what I thought it would be, January 11, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Ultimate Unauthorized Eragon Guide: The Hidden Facts Behind the World of Alagaesia (Inheritance Trilogy) (Paperback)
I bought this book after reading the two books published in the series(Earagon & Eldest). I was excited that it would have a list of creatures, people and other things about Alagaesia. It does mention certain aspects of the books, but it is more for children. I was disapointed that I paid almost 10 bucks plus shipping for this book. If you have a child that is interested in the series this is a good book for them, but for teens and adults it is a bit lame. It is a very thin book, and has few illistrations. I have a five year old and I read parts of the book to him and it was a little complicated for him. It has a section on how to see Faries, that includes a reciepe for a mixture of cloves and other herbs that are smashed then added into a ointment. Then the ointment is smeared on the eyes. Not recommended, and she states this in the book, but why put in a book designed for children? I can see some poor child tring to make this mixture so they can "see" faries. Not a good purchase.I am very disapointed with this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars A Sad Try, February 3, 2007
This review is from: The Ultimate Unauthorized Eragon Guide: The Hidden Facts Behind the World of Alagaesia (Inheritance Trilogy) (Paperback)
I'm a teenager and I've memorized every single aspect of the Inheiritance trilogy and when I got this book for Christmas I was expecting something useful. Instead I got nothing useful. The author has no idea about the books. She says that Durza(A shade) taught Galbatorix the secrets of dark magic wrong. There are many other 'facts' in the book that aren't even in the books. She says that ERagon is attacked by trolls in Eldest. Never happened, ever. Don't buy this book for anyone. They'll be sorely dissapointed.

1.0 out of 5 stars Makes less sense than attemping to samsh a hammer into your head, January 14, 2008
This review is from: The Ultimate Unauthorized Eragon Guide: The Hidden Facts Behind the World of Alagaesia (Inheritance Trilogy) (Paperback)
I'm going to keep this short and sweet and to the point. The author knows almost nothing about the books. She probably just wrote to try and prove fairies exist and she doesn't even do a good job of that. She doesn't have the sense to know that The Star Sapphire is not icicles, but, you guessed it, a sapphire. Do not buy this book. Do not support such idiocy.

1.0 out of 5 stars A Rip-off...In More Ways Than One, November 3, 2008
This review is from: The Ultimate Unauthorized Eragon Guide: The Hidden Facts Behind the World of Alagaesia (Inheritance Trilogy) (Paperback)
UMMM....Ye-ahhhh, okay. I really think this author(?) was looking to ride on the coat-tails of Paolini's success. I'm glad I gave it a quick perusal before actually buying it. Ever heard the saying "Not worth the paper it was printed on"? Some poor trees actually had to die for this thing to be printed. What a waste.

The title and description for this book really have little to do with the information inside. It reads like an elementary school book report with a lot of junk thrown in to fluff it out. Imagine going to see a movie that advertises Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in starring roles. After the first scene, you find out their only role in the movie is to have their pictures glued to giant stars that are carried through every shot. That's about how much of Eragon and Eldest are involved in this book.

It's really no surprise that this writer has never sold a million of anything. After a couple thousand sales, everyone has told all their friends -and probably enemies- not to waste their money. Too bad you can't rate zero stars.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected, May 29, 2007

This book uses the Eragon stories as a jumping off part, but then goes on to talk about all sorts of other things. I was hoping for a book that would give me more about the stories and characters and it really does not.

1.0 out of 5 stars one word, February 9, 2011
sad. really sad. i got the sample for kindle, expecting something good, and i found the author talking about trolls and faeries. if she had read the series she would know that they are called urgals and spirits. (if you can consider the spirits in the book faeries) overall, i have two things to say. first-do not buy unless you like reading a book about faeries that is not abut faeries. second-from reading it, i would not know she had read the series. she is just trying to prove that faeries exist. if the price is lower, bout 1.99 or 2.99 max, then i might buy it.

1.0 out of 5 stars terrible, January 3, 2012
This is terrible! Ism reading final eragon book and she plants false information here and some of it is HUGE SPOILERS like durza taught galbatorix dark magic. How can she know that!? It is stated in the last book! I wouldn't buy this I'm glad I looked at ratings and sampled it it disgusts me!
