Being an adult HP fan, I readily admit that I normally acquire most of my Potter information through fan Web sites and forums. However, after hearing about all the fun that fellow HP fans were having reading this book, I decided to purchase it. I must say it was a wise acquisition. Author Daniel Lawrence has written a fun HP companion book that will bring out the expert SLEUTH in anyone who reads it. Lawrence covers all the books in the series, including Half-Blood Prince Book 6, by using a question-answer method that is easy to follow. Very comprehensive, the author brings out fascinating insights and facts overlooked by most fans. Although I consider myslef to be an expert, I must admit that I could not believe how many questions I got incorrect when taking Lawrence's test in the book.

Unlike other companion pieces on the market that are either too outdated or dwell too much on theories, this Harry Potter Trivia Book offers true HP fan what they really want, current Facts and Doctrine. I know that Daniel Lawrence has legions of followers and is considered by most fans to be the top authority on HP information. I originally bought this book as a present for my daughter, who is a big HP fan. Although I am mildly interested in HP, once I started to read this trivia book, I didn't stop until I was done. Daniel Lawrence has done a great job in explaining different facts and tidbits of the series in a fun multiple-choice format, so the reader can find it easy to read. After both my daughter and I had fully read the book, we loved quizzing each other on the information in it to see how many we could get right.

The other nice thing about this book besides touching upon HBP Book 6 is to make the reader want to go back and re-visit the previous five books in the series to see how you could have missed the clues Lawrence spells out for you. My daughter did just that and now she can't wait until J.K. Rowling finishes writing the final Book 7 in the series.

This book is written for just about anyone, so both myself as an adult and my daughter, age 13, loved it. This is a simple yet effective companion novel that will certainly make HP fans happy until the next book is released. I recommend it.

Although I didn't know too much about the author Daniel Lawrence, I bought this book after it was recommended by so many of the HP Web sites and book reviews I use and trust. Although some of the information in this book I already was familiar with, there are plenty of unique facts that I would have never known about concerning HP without reading this book. It covers all the books in the series from 1 to 6, and even gets into the new GOF movie 4, this trivia book has something for every fan. Whether you are a mild fan or HP expert, I think there is enjoyment to be gained in it for everyone.

The book is written in question and answer form, so you first get to see if you think you know the answer before you read the explanation to verify if you really DID know it. That makes this trivia book even more fun - you actually get to test your skills on HP. I kept track of my final score on the final HP quiz just to see how many I got right (and wrong).

I've read many HP companion books but most of them are just loaded with endless theories. This book is different because it is loaded with facts not know to most HP fans, and they are presented in a fun and up-to date manner. I can now see why so many HP fans are in love with this book.

This has to be one of the best Harry Potter books that I have read. I cannot say I have found a single better companion book. After buying it, I couldn't put the book down until I was completely finished with it. This book is jam-packed with facts, histories and clues about things even -I- overlooked! No theories, just HP doctrine. Once you read this, I think you'll be reading all the books in the series over and over again...as you try to become an HP Sleuth expert and try to test yourself against the great questions posed by author Daniel Lawrence.

I also like the fact that this is the only book I've seen that discusses the details of the new Book 6 HBP by JKRowling. It also gives insights into the Goblet of Fire Movie, so the book is very up-to-date. For us HP fans, this is a great challenging book. Author Lawrence makes you think about the books in the series and select correct answers to his HP questions in his question-answer style. The book touches upon all the books in the series, so you will want to make sure you have read all of them before buying this book.

This is an excellent book filled with info many HP fans will find exciting. My friend originally suggested this book to me and I'm now suggesting it to all my fellow HP fans!

Now that I've read HBP for the third time, I wanted to see how much HP info I really knew. Luckily, I found this great new trivia book to test me. It's like taking an exam, only it's made especially for HP sleuths. It was great fun to read this book with all of its clues and puzzles that I didn't know about.

I also liked the fact that author Daniel Lawrence includes new insights into Movie 4. Now that I've read this book, I'm so ready for Book 7 and the new GOF movie to be released. Whether you're an avid HP fan or just mildly interested, this is a fun book to read.

Most HP fans know Lawrence from his being a frequent contributor to the top HP Web sites and is known for his expertise in solving HP mysteries. There are fun details and little known facts sprinkled throughout the book as well to keep your attention at full speed.

As someone who works with children in a library and an avid Harry Potter fan, I found this book to be not only entertaining reading, but thought provoking as well. It delves into many aspects of the "mysteries" of the first six books, especially Book 6. Are things always what they seem to be? Is Ms. Rowling keeping secrets from her readers with the answers to be revealed in future books?
Do not be deceived by the title. This book is a "fun read". You will find things in it that lead you back to the Harry Potter books and, perhaps, seeing things in a different light. This book is for young and old fans alike. I give it my highest recommendation.

...I did find a mistake. The only reason I point this out, is because Mr. Lawrence is suppose to have done his research, but on page 23(question 83) In the film Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, What does Harry use to read under the covers at the beginning of the movie?
Mr. Lawrence gave the answer of b.) Flashlight.
I've seen the movie several times and Harry is using his wand to read under the covers, but in the book he uses a flashlight. Did anybody else catch that?
