Book Description

September 24, 1998
This book is essential for anyone who is planning a wedding or creating a ceremony. It is broken down into five basic parts; Decisions To Make, Things To Acquire, Amusing Articles, (which explain everything and give useful, down-to-earth suggestions) Ceremony Samples of every part of the service, and Day-Of pages to give to your designated helper. This ensures that all your 'T's are crossed and 'I's are dotted.

The 'Decisions To Make' pages help you make both the big and the small decisions. It covers things that most people wouldn't think about right away. Consider whether you will have to walk on cement or grass. This could affect what type of shoes you wear. Do the bathrooms of the hall need decorating? How can you make your wedding really unusual? All of this is covered.

The 'Things To Acquire' pages do more than give vague ideas, they actually list suggestions and leave space for you to include your own. With its large print, perforated pages and s! implistic format, this book will make even the most seriously 'planning-impaired' bride feel like a professional, while still staying within their budget.

The 'Day-Of' pages include things like an 'Emergency Kit For The Day-Of'. What if your nail breaks or dress rips right before the ceremony? What if you have a splitting headache or upset stomach? You'll want that kit! It's hard to tend to the little details from the confines of the dressing room, so give your friend a list and relax.

The Ceremony Samples in the Appendix are non-denominational. There is a wide variety to choose from, including: two candlelighting ceremonies, three wine ceremonies and two ways to make your children part of the service. Each part is explained in detail in an amusing, lighthearted way.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a great book and really a terrific idea!, January 29, 1999

This review is from: The Ultimate Wedding/Ceremony Workbook For The 'Planning-Impaired' (Paperback)
I really like how The ULTIMATE Wedding/Ceremony Workbook For The Planning-Impaired gives the engaged couple freedom to be as creative and as daring as they can live with.

I also found myself getting kind of excited as I anticipated how the bride and groom would watch their wedding plans come together in a very real and concrete way. Of course, I'm a very visual person so this really appeals to me.

I loved that you included sample prayers and vows - it gives them a chance to realize that this is an important ceremony, as well as a sacred time in their lives, and presents each of them with the opportunity to seriously think about how to make it meaningful for themselves on a personal level.

The book is also casual and relaxed and the writing nice and big so it really has that workbook feel instead of the 'how to do it the right way' type of message. This is a great book - I know my son and future daughter-in-law will love it!

There are so many details related to planning any size wedding that having a book like this one to guide you is a definite plus. While I consider myself a very organized person, I still would have overlooked things like melting the wax off the wick of the unity candle beforehand, and having a basket available for cards at the gift table. We especially enjoyed designing our very own wedding ceremony from the wonderful selections provided. Reverend Amy has a lighthearted writing style that makes this book enjoyable to read as well as helpful. This one is a worthwhile investment for any wedding.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ceremonies that speak directly to the love of a couple, November 2, 1999

I'm a non-denominational minister and I bought this book because I was interested in expanding my collection of ceremonies. This book was perfect. I found ceremonies to suit many different situations and they were all very heartfelt and personal. Since I've been using them, people often ask me if the couple wrote the ceremony themselves because it sounds so much like them. The whole book was outstanding!
