The author's experience as a wedding guest, attendant and expert came through in her words. While she does not pretend to be a self-proclaimed bridal consultant, Muchnick definitely knows her stuff and shares it with an upbeat tone and useful, easy-to-read ideas that any bride, mother of the bride or groom could easily benefit from. Even the most experienced wedding consultants can glean insight and an idea or two from her unique observations! A fun, must read for anyone involved in the wedding planning process. I hope you enjoy it is much as I did.

Even though this book wasn't the greatest it did have some good ideas. A lot of it, however, was common sense advice. The one thing I didn't care for is the section for grooms was only a few pages long, as if the grooms don't have more to do than what she listed. If any duties were mentioned for the groom in the beginning the duty was put onto the bride, i.e. she says for the bride to make sure the shoes fit comfortably on the groom. Stuff like that the groom, as an adult, can do himself. I don't recommend this book though. There's better ones out there.

This is a terrific book - very well organized and easy to read. The author has a light, fun tone and the book is packed with wonderful and original wedding ideas. This is the book you need to read if you want to add a special personal touch to your wedding day. It has great ideas for traditional and non-traditional weddings and brides on a budget will appreciate the many ideas for special touches that don't cost a fortune. I highly recommend this book.

I checked this book out from the library and was glad I had not paid for it. I read the entire book and only wrote down two ideas. Most of the information is common sense, and much of it I had already read in some of my other wedding planners. If you're still convinced you need this book, go to the library. You can always write down any ideas you like, and once you get married, you won't need the book again.

I loved the book for the down-to-earth advice. I have never read anything on weddings that spoke to the pregnant bride-to-be. This book tactfully lets that reader know it is OK and it happens all the time. The advice to the bride to clue-in the person altering her dress was the best. Nobody will tell a pregnant bride those things. The advice to the men in the wedding was dead-on. The "stickier issues" of a wedding were covered with kindness and in a realistic way. The author has tact and insight. And this book was a fun read!

This book is a mish-mash of preachy and poorly constructed misguided phrases from an author that is not even a bridal consultant. There were no visuals and not really any good ideas. I would not recommend this book.

The book has many good ideas in it, but at times it feels like the book is portraying the average wedding to cost $20,000+ and in reality most weddings don't cost that. It makes the reader feel like they are unable to have a wonderful wedding without spending a fortune.

Such a great help being newly engaged! It's been a kick-start in brainstorming ideas, and given me a heads up as to what to do/what to expect pre-wedding, during the wedding, and post-wedding. Love it!

I recently got married and was given this book to help with ideas. I work full time and was on a budget, so when it came to creative ideas, I needed them by the bucketful. This book was by far the best book I read and gave me many beautiful, tasteful and unique ideas to use which made our special day, beautiful, elegant and uniquely "us" without breaking our bank. Thanks a million. I highly recommend this book.
