5.0 out of 5 stars The Ultimate Wedding Planner & Organizer, 2nd Edition
The planner is very informative with some great ideas and points I didn't think of for the wedding. It comes with a tote bag to carry it around as the book is too big and heavy to carry everywhere. Also, it comes with your own hole punch for when you need to keep papers in the binder. The planner has a plastic insert page which keeps business cards and brochures...

Ok so I've been looking for the right binder for a while. I'm doing an Indian wedding so I wanted something that can cover ALL the questions. "The Bride's Essential Wedding Planner - Deluxe edition" by Amy Nebens is a better one.

I was almost sold on getting this book the Ultimate wedding planner, till I went to the bookstore to see it 1st...

Ok so I've been looking for the right binder for a while. I'm doing an Indian wedding so I wanted something that can cover ALL the questions. "The Bride's Essential Wedding Planner - Deluxe edition" by Amy Nebens is a better one.

I was almost sold on getting this book the Ultimate wedding planner, till I went to the bookstore to see it 1st.

Cons:
- No index
- Tabs are filled with 2 important items and are hard to see when the binder is closed.
- The pages are not seggregated, you have to do that (at which point why would you just not copy it all and send the thing back and make your own binder?)
- Calculator is worthless

Pros:
The 3 hole puncher

I eventually bought "The Bride's Essential Wedding Planner - Deluxe edition" by Amy Nebens for almost the same price. Pros on that one are: how to write thank you notes, invitations, etc. checklists, photo poses list, money saving tips, etc. It just seemed more practical for me than alot of same filler pictures that I can get from the internet. Con: No hole puncher :( but it's 3 ring so I'll go get one from target.

Hope this helps.

This was a great purchase. It is keeping me very organized, and I love how it outlines all the traditions. It gives you great advice and ideas on how to save money. It gives great advice on what to ask vendors as well! Best planner I found, and I researched a ton! Worth the money!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great planner!, November 11, 2009
I bought this book at borders, and should have bought here at amazon. When I saw it I knew it was the book I was looking for. I was shopping around trying to find the right book to help me, and this one was it. The book is large with lots of extra space to add pages. The book is very informative and really helps me get organized. The timeline was really helpful to get things in perspective for me. Before I bought it, I started freaking out because I thought I had to get everything done right now! So to sum up, the book is really helping me stay organized, gives lots of extra information, and is large with extra space.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect!, February 11, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
With money being tight for both my family and my fiance's, we were not able to splurge on a live wedding planner for our upcoming wedding. This book is the perfect alternative!

It's a large binder, and comes with a small 3 hold puncher for adding extra pages, which there is plenty of room for. It came with an adorable and *free* tote bag, which is great since the binder itself is a bit big to carry around. The bag is bright pink with white polka-dots and says BRIDE on it. I'm proud to carry it around! The planner provides information on common traditions, as well as some unique ideas. It goes into detail on each subject and provides checklists and questions for all of the vendors. It had seperators with folders for each important section.

All-in-all, it's perfect for my DIY wedding, but would also be ideal for a larger more involved wedding than mine. Love it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Useful worksheets, but folders not planned well, January 7, 2004
This review is from: The Ultimate Wedding Planner & Organizer (Ring-bound)
Thought I liked it in the bookstore, until I got home and couldn't fit a normal sheet of paper in the folders. Unfortunately, I wrote in it before I tested the folders, so I'm trying to get my $$ back from the company. I'm sorry I wasted my money... I should have read the reviews here first.

I am planning a very low key and low budget wedding but I love being organized with all of my planning. I LOVED the calendar in the back that you could fill in the dates so you could decide when exactly you wanted to start in detail, planning your wedding. It was great! I also love the fact that all of the sections are divided, but it would have been nice if there had been tabs to make it easier to flip to a section in the middle. I appreciated all of the information included in the planner, a lot of the items that they mentioned I hadn't really even considered before.

I think my favorite part about this planner however, was the fact that it was basically a three ring binder. This may make it seem cheap to you, but being able to print out my e-mails with valuable information and hole punch them and stick them in was so amazing!! The three hold punch included is not by any means an industrial strength but perfect if you are on the go and just want to stick something in. All in all I love it and would recommend it to anyone!!

*** UPDATE ***

One month after our wedding: I used this planner up to the very end and even after our wedding!! I put everything inside of it, information from the photographer, the person baking our cake, the officient, addresses ... you name it, it was in there! In addition I used this a lot after the big day because I had researched all of the information about how to change my name before the wedding and had all of the online forms filled out and stuck in the folder partitions in the binder so when the time came I just pulled them out, double checked what documents I needed and then headed off to the DMV and social security office. All in all, I loved this binder for planning my wedding and I hope you do too!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Good packaging but substandard content, November 13, 2002

I bounght and then returned this book, primarily because although the format (binder etc.) was excellent the content left much to be desired.
The information contained was relatively sparse, and several pages would have had to be xeroxed - for example the 'Guest List' was only one page with space for maybe 16 names.

Instead I bought the 'Easy Wedding Planner, Organizer & Keepsake' (same authors), removed the pages from the spiral binding and put them in my own ringbound folder, so I could punch and add my own paperwork. I would recommend doing the same; even though it takes some time, it's worth it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Large, but worth hauling around!!, October 11, 2002
By

My mother brought this home for me when I was first talking about marriage with my now-fiance. We went back and checked the 8,000 wedding planners, and this was best one all-around.

The best feature is the 3-ring notebook aspect with its attached hole punch. This allows you to insert your own paperwork, ideas, magazine articles, etc., into the appropriate categories. They have pre-made divider tabs for about 10 different categories along with little pockets on the dividers to place small items.

The authors have included detailed checklists for everything from bridal party responsibilities to a minute-by-minute timeline for the wedding day. Especially helpful are the vendor comparison charts covering everything from ceremony sites to limo companies. There are a number of questions I wouldn't have thought to ask some of the vendors.

It's not the most portable one out there, but the flexibility of having a 3-ring notebook makes it worth it. I highly recommend it!

2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good, but not the best, November 16, 2004
By

I thought this planner/organizer was pretty good...in particular, I absolutely loved the worksheets! Every part of the wedding can be accounted for.

Not so great:
I've only had this planner for not even a year, and already the calculator doesn't work (some digits don't show up fully...it's hard to distinguish between most numbers) and it's also a solar calculator! When you're working on a spreadsheet, you can't flip back and forth to add more numbers...because it's a solar, it erases any previous info you put into it once you turn a page. So although the calculator was a great idea, it's hardly useful unless the numbers you want to calculate are not part of the binder.

The folders! The most annoying part by far is not being able to stick full page sheets in the folders. You have to fold every sheet in half, which completely bulks up the folder beyond belief. And the folder isn't built to hold many sheets of paper, so a catalogue or catering menu has absolutely no hope of being stored here without the folder falling out of the binder and ripping at the hole punch. Of course, once that happens, the folder will never stay in the binder again.

Just a few overlooked errors, but quite annoying at that. For $30, I would suggest finding another organizer that might be better designed.
