This has alot of common knowledge information that you can find on the internet. The workouts are just a compilation of different weight workouts without saying which is better for boxing. The running advice is very good though

As an amateur boxer, this book has greatly assisted my strength and conditioning. I've applied the key essentials and am already seeing improvements in speed, endurance, and strength. This book focuses on improving speed and strength without becoming fatigued easily. As a bonus, tips are provided to help prevent injuries and build technique over just becoming bulky. When you build muscle mass, you become fatigued faster. Now if you work out the right way (like this book provides) you can build the same strength you would with muscle mass.

5.0 out of 5 stars Every boxer and trainer should have a copy of this, April 21, 2011
As a boxer trainer I have used this book to train several of my fighters. Many old school trainers are adverse to weigh training and believe that the increased muscle size slows fighters down. But that certainly has not been my experience after training my fighters with the weight training techniques described in this book. I am finding that my fighters are throwing all of their punchers harder, including their jabs, left hooks, right hands, upper cuts, etc., and they have not sacrificed speed. Their endurance has also increased. This is a book that I would also recommend for MMA fighters and kickboxers who cross train in boxing.

This review is from: The Ultimate Guide To Weight Training for Boxing (The Ultimate Guide to Weight Training for Sports, 6) (The Ultimate Guide to Weight Training for Sports, ... Guide to Weight Training for Sports, 6) (Paperback)
This book made great suggestions for improving some of the most critical parts of being a successful boxer--endurance, power, agility, and speed. This book takes a healthy approach to boxing--it succinctly and clearly outlines how, depending on your experience and level of competitiveness, you should proceed on improving your ability as a fighter. I recommend this book without any hesitation.

If Rocky could do it so can you -- and this book is the secret how. The book (aka "the boxing bible") won't only put you on a plan to increase strength and stamina, but it will also boost your quickness and agility. After reading this book you'll be able to knockout Mike Tyson.
