Editorial Reviews

Review

I am a skating coach in Britain and I have read and referred to your excellent book 'Weight training for skating' in my training for years. The skating specific programs I've used for my teams have helped us improve dramatically. --Diana E

I am a recreational skater and have been taking group and private lessons for about 10 years. The Ultimate Guide to Weight Training for Skating has helped me to organize weight training workouts and to understand which exercises developed which muscles. Although skating seems to involve mostly the legs, maintaining good posture, specific arm position, and torso rotation are just as important. So ensuring that I develop all muscles is a tremendous help. And the breakdown of strength and power helps me understand the value of different exercises. Thanks. --Jean P

This book is garbage. The routine is as cookie cutter as it gets and it's pretty clear that the author (who has as book of this sort for every sport) just pastes the name of the sport onto the first two pages of introduction and then gives the same generic routine. Don't buy this or any of his other books.
