When my Xbox 360 died and got the red ring of death I was mortified. I saw how people said that there was a kit to fix my particular problem (E74 with 3 lights) so I read up on the issue and after some research came to buy this kit. Out of all the options available I got the one that came with all the tools I will ever need for 360 repairs. Total work time was about 2 hours as I was taking it nice and slow as to not mess anything up. The fix was simple and straight forward, the package comes with a piece of paper with a web address with step by step instructions, so don't bother looking up some other kit's instructions since some of the finer points wont apply, like no drilling on this kit while others you have to.
Take you time, follow the steps and you will be playing in no time. I recommend this kit to anyone with the red ring of death.

the socket driver is great however the handle is poorly manufactured. there may be some flash left from the injection molding process but that can be easily fixed with a small knife or razor blade... I have since replaced one of the bits with a 3mm hex.
the Xbox opening tool would be better made of a stronger metal like maybe stainless. I am constantly having to straighten the long part and wish I could apply a little more force on it while opening the back. arctic silver rocks, the cleaner solution is great and the compound spreads easily and washes off incredibly easy. soap companies could use this product to exagerate how powerful their soaps are in demonstrations. do not follow the instructions to place a metal washer on the screw side, the cheese head screws are too thick for the Xbox case already. better yet, replace the screws all together. you can find button head machine screws which are only 2.75 mm thick instead of 3.5+ (some with a 3mm hex for your socket driver like I got for the little tool set). that additional thickness causes flex in your Xbox motherboard which is as bad for it (if not worse than) the heat problem that plagues xboxes.

I used this kit in conjunction with the tutorials on [...] and now I have my xbox back!
It's like nothing ever happened. Best of all, I got to do it myself despite not really being that technically savvy (can't say I've ever built my own computer or anything like that). Though you basically get two torque tools (one fancy screwdriver with interchangeable heads, and one basic allen wrench with both sizes), the official xbox 360 opening tool was a breeze to use. Also get a sharpie, some paper towels and a flat head screwdriver and you are in business. The kit even came with a few extra parts, though luckily I didn't need them. I highly recommend this fix!

This product is awesome! It makes the red ring of death laughable!! Disassembling the machine, accomplishing the repair, and putting it all back together again took about an hour. I can guarantee if I have this problem again (hopefully on someone else's machine!) it'll take about half of that.
I had to use needle-nose pliers to remove the x-clamps which wasn't that big of a deal, especially with the included replacement screws...reassembled the xbox and fired it up... instant green lights!! Love it! Thanks for saving me about $170.00!!

I recently used this kit to repair my XBOX and would definitely recommend it. The repair did not work first try, but I followed the instructions for "stuck" 360s and was able to get my machine up and running without too much hassle. Including time spent taking apart and putting back together, it took me about an hour and a half. If you have experience building computers the procedure should be a breeze.Regarding the components of the kit, the only part I had issue with was the cleaner. I usually use 100% acetone nail polish remover for cleaning gunked on thermal compound but I was out so I gave this stuff a try. It works, but not nearly as fast and it doesn't evaporate nearly as quickly as acetone. If you're as impatient as I am you may want to do your self a favor and swing by your local grocery store and pick up a bottle, or snag one from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Super-Nail-Acetone-Polish-Remover/dp/B0034D3HIM The only items I used which were NOT included in the kit was a screwdriver and cutips for cleaning the CPU/GPU.

Ultimate Xbox 360 XCLAMP Repair Kit - 3 Red Light X-Clamp Fix w/ 3.5g Arctic Silver 5 & Opening Unlock Toolkit came with all the item as shown on amazon.com. I was pleasantly surprize with the screwdriver kit and the set of different heads it came with. It came on time, within the stated delivery date.
I got the instructions, a list of websites from the kit. Being new to x-box repair I took my time and manage to take the box apart and clean the heat sink and processors. I wish they had elaborated on spreading the silver over processors and also made a bigger deal on how important the orientation of the heat sinks were. I manage to replace the heat sink over the micro-processor 90 degrees off. This let to two red rings after about of 10 minutes play time. Yes it did work for ten minutes. If you get two rings on the left side after reparing your x-box check the heat sink over the main processor. After correcting this mistake the x-box worked well for an extended period of time, I think it is working. I am very pleased with this kit ---

Followed the instructions to a tee and to my surprise, worked like a charm. I've never taken apart a console before and it was pretty fool-proof. A bit tricky to re-fasten the heat syncs with the included bolts, but well worth the frustration.

Product arrived promptly with no missing pieces. Screw driver was handy in taking the Xbox apart and the interchangeable heads were easy to use. I found the Xbox 360 opening tool to be pretty useless. I just used the included screwdriver and the Xbox opened relatively easily. The "3RedLightFix" web site and instructions weren't too useful even though I would definitely recommend reading through them. I found videos on YouTube to be most helpful with taking the unit apart. I also reviewed the Arctic Silver web site and YouTube for instructions on how to apply the Arctic Silver. I've read different people say they can do the whole taking apart, repair, and reassembly in less than an hour. I had not taken an Xbox apart before and I was very deliberate in my disassembly an reassembling of the Xbox and it took me between 2-3 hours total.
Now, what everyone wants to know, did it work? Well, yes, for about 8 hours of use over a week and a half. Then the unit began to have the same distorted image problem it had before I got the RROD the first time. I haven't cut it back on since. I plan to take it apart again and try the repair one more time. I'll try to follow up with an update once this is done, but for now I would give this product a 2 out of 5 stars.

Screws' head is too big in size which makes them impossible to go through the xbox metal case causing the motherboard to bend.
