Monster and AudioQuest and other HDMI cable makers are misleading consumers into unnecessary upgrades by labeling their step-up HDMI cables as 120 Hz, 240 Hz, 480 Hz or 600 Hz, the refresh rate found within many LED, LCD or (the 600 Hz subfield rate within) Plasma HDTVs.These higher rate signals do not exist in any consumer type video signals sent from any source (cable box, media center, disc player etc.) to an HDTV. The signal is always upconverted inside the display. There are never any signals higher than a 60Hz rate going from a video source to an HDTV That being said, I own and love these cables. They provide a stable connection and I see a visable difference in the picture quality. They were less than $10 more than the cheap cables I bought at Big Lots. I paid a lot of money for my TV. These cables are a worthwile investment.

You can save some money and order one of the hundreds of chineapo HDMI cables available here on Amazon or for a few more dollars you can order one these and rest assured that you will receive an absolutely quality product. A $30 HDMI cable hooked to $300 BluRay feeding a $3000 TV seems very reasonable to me considering the fact that I know I am seeing the best posible picture available to me. Wonder if or just wonder, its up to you.

I wouldn't pay full listing price (~$100+) for this cable, but this is a pretty good deal on Amazon. This is only 4 feet long, which doesn't go too far, but it's actually perfect for me, just enough, and I don't have to worry about coiling extra cable.

GREAT price for this must have cable!!My X-box sits directly below my tv, which is wall mounted, so I really didn't need a long cable at all. In a retail store, these high bandwidth cables are going to cost you an arm and a leg but i got this thing for $25 AFTER shipping!!!! Same exact cable at best buy is $99!!! AMAZING!!! I'll definately be buying all my connection hardware from here in the future. Take that sweet new plasma, lcd or led TV you just bought from the store and get all the connections and a line conditioner from here for cheap. Then take the couple hundred dollars that you saved and pay someone at best buy or somewhere to come out and use their calibrating device on your tv. A High bandwidth monster cable (in my experience, buying anything but monster brand is a waste of cash for normal, consumer entertainment equipment), a good line conditioner with a stage I, II or III power filter (for clean, full rated power to the tv and sound system) and a screen calibration from your local television service center (they bring out an expensive piece or hardware that we used to call a spider to calibrate your screen) and you'll be amazed how your picture just got a million times better, even though you thought it was already the best of the best.

There are other options out there that cost much less and perform just as well if not better. This cable is nice, the only thing that I do not like is that it is somewhat stiff.

This item was $30.99 at Amazon and $100(!!!) at "Best Buy." Monster is a great cable, but don't get ripped off by buying it from Best Buy!!!!!!!!!!

I will let you know that you are wasting your money on this. I bought a similar cable that supports HDMI 1.2 from eBay for $10 for my other TV and decided to compare cables on my 1080p TV and PS3 with a couble of Blue Ray movies. I have to say that I could not see a single difference in performance. I really regret paying over a $100 for a cable. All I can do is warn others of my mistake.

When the cable arrive, the package indicated that it only provides 10.2 Gbps. I was definitely expecting faster performance from the description of the item. Should be adequete for most applications, but I wanted faster.

This connects a Sony Blu Ray player to a Panasonic 65" plasma. I bought the Monster brand for my stereo equipment (starting 35 years ago?) and stuck with it for the video cables. Since they last forever, why not?But I did not buy the most expensive Monster cable. The picture is great, but how complicated can a cable be? If I bought a $200 cable, would I see any noticible difference? Would you? |
