Product Description

A best selling all-around dog boot! Durable boots are the BEST protection for senior dogs or with hip conditions and having trouble slipping on hardwood or tile floors. (Limited breathability; for extended periods of time in boots, try Ultra Paws Traction fleece dog boots). The sole is pliable, super grippy, and ideal to prevent slipping on floors and light duty outdoors - plus they stay on your dog's paws! Care Instructions: Loosely fasten Velcro closure, wash in cold water delicate cycle; hang to air dry. Dog Boot Measuring Instructions Measure your dog's front paw to ensure a comfortable fitting. 1. Place the paw on a piece of paper and press down on the top, mimicking how the paw spreads when the dog is walking. 2. Mark the left and right sides on the paper and measure the distance between the marks. Compare this to the boot sizes. The width of the paw should be smaller than the boot size because the boot won't stretch. If you are in-between sizes, add a Doggie Sock to ensure a better fit.

I have tried almost every type of boot available. My dog has really small feet and nothing out there worked. I've struggled to keep boots on her when we're in the snow or when we're walking her on wet streets where you can clearly see oily residue. The first time I saw how the Ultra Paws Durable boots were made, I immediately saw these were designed by someone who actually understood what a dog needs. First off, there's a slit on each side which really helps in the process of getting them on. On the inside at the top is a soft rubbery cushion that helps grip which not only aids in keeping the boots on, but also provides comfort. It's not necessary to tighten to the point where the circulation might be affected. Once you slip the boot on and make sure it's on all the way, it's really simple to tug the first strap closed. There's a plastic clasp that the strap slide through. I've not seen this on any other boot. This allows you to slowly pull it to the proper tightness which you can do with one hand. The design creates a uniform tension all around and once you've got it correct, you just pop down the velcro. Then you've got a second strap above this one. This strap is threaded through a cloth loop so it stays in place when you tighten it. This too is possible with one hand and then you secure the velcro. Once you get the hang of it, it's really simple. My dog does this rhino impersonation when she meets other dogs by pawing the ground to impress them with how macho she is. This usually resulted in flying boots that I had to run to retrieve. No more. They stayed on. I LOVE these boots. See pictures (in red coat).

The Video is just a quick shot for sizing that shows the PETITE size boots on my 14 pound Miniature Poodle in action in the snow.

The reviews for these Petite sized Ultra Paws Durable boots range from love-em to hate-em.....and it is hard for me to disagree with any of them.

If the size fits your dog well, and if your dog has the temperament to try out new things my guess is you will love them like I do.

We are having an extreme cold spell in Colorado (Minus 8 to Plus 10 degrees with a couple of inches of snow). My old (mellow tempered)14 pound miniature poodle Maggie can make it about 30 feet before she stops cold with ice-balls in her pads and froze up feet. The attached video shows her after 15 minutes with her new shoes.

This is the smallest size Ultra Boots, and Maggie is not a toy/tiny dog. Her feet are probably a little small compared to other 14 pound breeds, but the Petit size are still just slightly big for her. My guess is for a smaller dog than Maggie you would not be pleased with the fit. A slightly larger dog will be fine.

Maggie is very mellow and actually enjoyed having the boots put on the 1st time. I layed her down on her bed, feet up, and pet her talking soothingly as we put them on. She nearly falls asleep now when we gear her up.

The first 5 minutes with the boots were similar to the funny youtube dog shoe videos....she goose-stepped around looking ridiculous. When she tried to remove one I just said NO and she stopped. About 15 minutes into it I took the video and as you can see, she loves them now. We have completed mile walks the last 2 days in the bitter cold and she has no complaints and the shoes stay on.

As I said at the start, if they fit your dog and its temperament...I think you will love these well made shoes.

These boots are awesome! My dog is a small 6lb Chihuahua/MinPin mix and I've gotten him boots in the past and they were always too big! These ones actually stay on and work well. My dog adjusted to them within a few minutes. ORDER THESE IF YOU HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH OTHER BOOTS! These WILL work for your dog!

Got the petite for our 7lb chihuahua and they are WAY too big!

They are great quality and definitely would have been perfect for our winter hikes in the Pacific Northwest, but the petite size would be for a Jack Russel or Corgi maybe? Something over 15 lbs.

I have a shiba inu and he's very curious about new things. I put them on him and he can just get the straps off real easy. Finally, he's used to walking in these shoes with no problem. So if you wanna try to put on some shoes on your dog and see if they will actually wear them or not you can choose these. Ok back to the shoes. They are ok shoes. I like the foam design so the shoes will actually stay on without causing any discomfort. The shape of the shoes is weird. The front is just too big but the ankle size is normal. The bottom part is slippery. Also because of the oversized front, it can make it harder for your dogs to climb stairs. I'm planning to buy some better(also more expensive) shoes from ruffwear.com since now i know he can actually wear shoes.

Started out with the Petite then sent them back for the small. They stay on no problem if you tighten the straps nice and tight. "Teddy is a Bichon mix about 11.5 lbs and the petite kept falling off or sliding down which made him trip on the pavement. He got used to them fast but we have been dressing him up for cold weather since he was a puppy so he is very patient while we put them on. Overall they worked great, we only use them on very cold days. He used to only make it to the mail box then would lay down in the snow and put his paws in the air, lol. Now he goes around the block a 20-30 minute walk with no problem. Although he looks like a clydesdale high stepping it on the street in the snow he will take off and run like there not even their. Made well and worked for us, they were the only boots we have ever tried..
