Ultra Pet Ultra Micro Crystals Cat Litter, 5-Pound Pouch

I bought one bag each of the micro crystals and the Pearl crystals by Ultra Pet. Having used Fresh Step Crystals since my two cats joined the family over a year ago, I didn't want to shock them with the switch so I tried the Pearls first as they are larger crystals. I layered the Pearls with a thin carpet of Fresh Step crystals and they seemed to take to it well enough. The odor control was equivalent (superb) to Fresh Step which is a big thumbs up from me and the two "boys".

After finishing that bag, I went to the Micro Crystals. Before I could even start to put a layer of the Fresh Step on top, one of the cats leaped into the box and basically started dancing around in the litter. I don't know if it's because of the sand-like quality compared to the hard, rough crystals but he was literally having a ball just spinning around in the box. I guess it took his brother shoving him out to go do his business for the first one to figure out it's not to play in!

All in all, both products I tried were superb quality and highly absorbent with long lasting odor control. I'll be purchasing the Micro Crystals because it's easier on MY feet considering they do tend to throw this all over the floor before they "go". It's unfortunate that there's a 3 week shipping delay and there's no subscribe & save option. If not for those issues, I would make the full switch over to Ultra Pet litters.

Having had a cat since 1986 (two cats in a row), I have tried everything out there. A friend recommended this to me about 2 yrs ago and it is hte best litter, hands down. I pay 8.99 regular price at Publix or $7.99 on sale. I never see coupo buy in th paper offered by the vendor. But, I am willing to pay the higher price. Amazon's price is ridiculous. Wish I could buy it in bulk. But 8.99 for a full month is fine, too. I change the box, and my air filter every month when I pay by mortgage. This way , I never forget either. Whether you buy the Pearls or the Micro is a matter of your cats' preference, as both work equally as well.

I consider this litter easy because it lasts about 2 weeks for two of my cats. I only have to rake it during those two weeks, then I clean the entire box with detergent, get out the new bag of litter, and I'm done! The other important part of this litter is that I can flush the poop in the toliet. Ultra Pearls cat litter is the only crystal, long lasting, litter out there where you can do that--vs. having to put it in a trashbag where it can get awfully stinky! Anything that makes my life easier, and less smelly is a great thing!

Got this litter because my cat was having a respiratory problem.

As soon as I poured this into our 2 Cat boxes, my home became inundated with a strong chemical smell.
I have an aprox. 850sf apt. and it permeated everything in my home. I got rid of it this a.m. and I can still smell it, even on my clothes!
This litter is also made in China which doesn't exactly have a great track record with our pets.
I have since found a benign safe litter- Feline Fresh- which smells of pine and hopefully won't hurt my cats or us.
It also doesn't cut down any trees in the process.
It's a win-win! And it is made in the USA.
Update: Feline Fresh is too dusty!
Have switched to Feline Pine.

The bottom line: Just sticking with the pine litter, my cat has stopped coughing!!! Yea, pine!!!!!

I love this litter as do my cats, but Amazon's price is way off the mark, my Publix grocery store just started carrying this, $8.99 for a 5 lb bag. Very reasonable.

No better than the Pet Smart products. When I got this for an additional discount it was a decent value (same price per pound as the other products). However, it is 50% more. I do believe that this type of litter is better. When it is less then ten dollars then I will be happy to purchase this on Amazon.



UPDATE:

This product is better than the PetSmart brand which is half the price. Not way better, but better. Sadly, I will have to deal with the extra aroma in the laundry area until this is 30% less. Ten dollars about.

This is hands down the best cat litter I've ever used. The mini crystals don't clump up and get stuck to the bottom of the tray. It's super absorbent and doesn't stink. I have used Tidy cats Crystals which they don't make anymore. That was the reason I tried World's Best Cat litter which is SO NOT the best. Very stinky after 3 days. Then I did some googling and came across this brand. I bought it based on customer feedback. I highly recommend it as well and I will never use another brand!

I thought that this was a decent price when I ordered it. Two days later I went to a foodstore which had not carried it and found that they had begun stocking the litter for $7.98. I like this product(and so does my fussy cat), but feel that I have been ripped off.

This product is absolutely the best!!!!! I have tried many others and none compare. No odor, no clumping, kind to little paws.
