This is a good product. I have no complaints about the product itself. It works well and I would suggest this particular one.

However, the shipping cost was more than the product itself. I bought this online because I live in a rural area without easy access to a good music supply store.

Otherwise I would recommend buying the product locally or the next time you made a trip to a larger city with a good music supply house.

This was no fault of Amazon. A 3rd party supplier shipped it and while they got it to me in a timely manner and sent updated catalogs for their products (which I will probably purchase in the future) the shipping costs for this particular item was outrageous. I will be more careful when ordering in the future to pay attention to the shipping costs on each product.

I live in an apartment, so I try and make my practicing as quiet as possible. That said this was not the way to go for me. This didn't quiet the violin a whole lot. I ended up going with a metal heavy mute which really dampens the sound, and alas- no complaints from neighbors!
