5.0 out of 5 stars Great water pressure and savings! A WINNER!
I am living in an apt complex in AZ while I rehab a house. The maintenance man told me all showerheads were being replaced with Lo-Flow types.(I had actually complained about hot water running out-another story)He replaced the old one with some incredibly goofy lo-flo model that had the pressure of a child peeing on my head. 3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best - but not the worst either
It does what it advertises I suppose; but the spray pattern is too wide to effective given the volume of water it's allowing through. There is not enough water pressure once you get past 'head high' to properly rise so it takes more time in the shower to properly wash and rinse. If the spray pattern was a bit tighter I think this would be a great improvement. I have...

I had had one of these Whedon's 30 years ago in another home. For real! I found one here. These aren't going to give any luxurious massage or rainforest duplication, but if you want to conserve water, and have a great basic shower with very decent pressure, get this little guy! It's great! I have below shoulder length hair and I can have a nice clean experience in 10-14 minutes tops with the works! The added bonus is the shut-off valve...you can leave it at trickle while hot water gets to the showerhead, or turn it off for lathering. Just depends on how green you want to go.Buy it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Works as advertised., June 25, 2008

The water velocity is strong enough at head level to wash your hair. The velocity is less by the time it reaches lower levels of the body.
Saves water. Saves oil. Saves on the sewer bill.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product, October 29, 2009
This review is from: Ultra Saver Showerhead, 1.5 GPM (Misc.)
We have been using one of these for several years. The spray is great and the lathering button allows the flow to be reduced to a trickle while keeping the water warm. Since our shower has dual controls (hot/cold), the lathering valve is a real plus. I am buying one for our daughters' bathroom to get a handle on water use and water heating costs there.

Highly recommended!

I've used versions of this showerhead for the last 20 years and all have saved lots of water while still giving a great shower. With care you can expect to use this showerhead for at least 7 to 10 years, that has been my experience. This model reduces water usage even more while somehow giving a full force shower. Even thought the flow rate is down to 1.5 GPM, I still seem to rinse off just as fast as with any other 2.5 GPM showerhead. This showerhead isn't noisy like some such as the Oxygenics. It looks very compact and elegant in your showerstall as well as not taking up much space. It is very well made and a super bargain at the price I paid. I have bought these at big box hardware stores in the past but they seem to have all stopped carrying them in favor of more expensive items made in China (that is communist China the last time I checked). I applaud Amazon for still carrying them. These are a well made, inexpensive item that works very well, saves lots of precious water and is made in the USA. What's not to love. I'm buying more of these just to give to people to show them that they can easily live more green and still find quality, inexpensive USA made products. Thanks Whedon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Low flows with a comfortable spray., July 8, 2010

I have used a shower head like this for years, and now I prefer showers with low flows. I bought this shower head when I moved and forgot to take the old shower head with me. This one is OK, but I prefer even lower flows than this delivers. The valve in the middle is meant to let you temporarily cut off the flow while you're in the shower, leaving a trickle so that the water does not cool off in the pipes. That is a good feature, and I also use the valve at the half-way point to lower the flow to a level that I prefer.

5.0 out of 5 stars The poor man's Oxygenic shower head!, December 8, 2011

I've been using this type of shower head for years and currently have two in use and two as spares. I take one in a ziploc (with small wrench and tape) when I travel for multi-day stays in case a motel's shower head is inadequate. The shower is of the Oxygenic type - powerful, but soft and not stinging, though the power is only about half of Oxygenic's. This is indeed the "best bang for your buck" in shower heads.

5.0 out of 5 stars KISS, October 31, 2011

This shower, head while not elaboate, follows the KISS principle (keep it simple stupid) and while not fancy looking gives one of the best and most stimulating showers, while miserly on water consumption. Simply speaking it is the best. I own three of them. Home Depot used to carry them but were too inexpensive and adopted much lower quality higher priced substitutes. Their methodogy is to make as big a profit as possible.

This showerhead saves water & my kids have not complained about anything. I have an older one in my shower & if you use the trickle switch while soaping up, you will save water & soap. Great product.

There is not enough water pressure once you get past 'head high' to properly rise so it takes more time in the shower to properly wash and rinse. If the spray pattern was a bit tighter I think this would be a great improvement. I have replaced this with a Delta from a local store that does work better. I suppose I'll save it for use down the road because the return would cost more than the item in the first place.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does what it claims, May 31, 2011

I bought this shower head and a few others to test for use to save water. I actually did a scientific review by installing each shower head in turn and running them on a standard shower run collecting everything in a 5 gallon bucket held under the shower head for 2 minutes. I then compared the shower heads and measured how much water they actually put out in the 2 minutes. This shower head does what it claims. It put out actually a little less than 1.5 gpm and had a fair force to it. It did not aerate that much, so you can turn down the temp too saving more money by saving some hot water. Because the force is not that strong, it takes a little longer to wash off, and I wouldn't recommend it for someone with a lot of hair. Overall, it does what it claims.
