5.0 out of 5 stars I'm surprised at Ultra Records!, April 26, 2009
This review is from: Ultra Trance 9 (Audio CD)
so lately we've all been used to the typical ultra compilations with pop artists songs remixed along mainstream dance songs and some good underground songs. the latest Ultra Dance 10 was just pure disaster and i'm sure this is why they pushed this album to be purely electronic. so to my surprise there is no pop or hip hop artists!

disc1 starts of with Guru Josh Project's INFINITY 2008, Benny Benassi's COME FLY AWAY amazingly remixed by Soha & Adam K. Then it goes more underground with Tiesto's EDWARD CARNBY, the amazing Darude remix of NO LIMIT (this song is along the best of the compilation!).. Then the album moves on with the progressive sounds of deadmau5 GHOSTS N STUFF (superb!).. and an interesting remix of Axwell's and Bob Sinclar's WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD. The disc uplifts with Markus Shulz THE NEW WORLD, Above & Beyond's ON A GOOD DAY and breaks down with Armin's amazing track IN AND OUT OF LOVE. Follows with Ferry Corsten's great track MADE OF LOVE.. the disc ends with Milk Inc's and Basshunter's upbeat tracks.

disc2 is not really trace, it sounds more like ministry of sounds underground compilations.. it is more on the progressive and deep house side... with David Guettas EVERYTIME WE TOUCH (INPETTO REMIX), Andy Diguid DON'T BELONG, Jes IMAGINTATION, Kasakde's STEP ONE TWO, and a interesting remix by deadmau5 of the classic Energy 52 CAFE DEL MAR.

I say two thumbs up to ultra records for having a come back with this album... at least there was thought put into it. So if you are into progressive, underground, and mainstream trance, then you will enjoy this album very much. :)

Bought this in Apr somewhere in MO while on a cross-country roadtrip. I love it... many songs instantly, while others have since grown on me. There are at least 11 songs that get frequent play in my realm. 'The New World' by Markus Schulz is my fav non-vocal track; 'On a Good Day' by OceanLab ft. Justine Suissa, and 'Made of Love' by Ferry Corsten ft. Betsie Larkin, are my fav vocal tracks. It's definately worth the purchase, IMO.

Very good most of the way. Super workout music, which is mainly what I use Trance for. Few boring or irritating tracks, and some truly great ones.

I bought this CD based on the reviews and I am very happy with it. I like Trance music, especially when I am driving and this is a favorite in my collection. Very few duds in the collection.

Ultra Trance 09" is a fun collection of multiple dance/trance/electronica music tunes. Every song on this compilation is beaming with artistic life, but the following tracks are my personal favorites:
Disc One:
Benny Bennassi ("Come Fly Away" featuring Soha & Adam K Remix)- A catchy tune about relaxing and having fun.
Randy Boyer, Kristina Sky, and Cari Golden ("No Limit" Darude Remix)- A healing melody about reaching for unlimited bliss and personal dreams.
Markus Schulz ("The New World"Original Mix)- "The New World" contains uplifting music.
Above & Beyond presents Oceanlab ("On a Good Day")- "On A Good Day" is a gorgeous melody reminiscent of the saying "turning over a new leaf in life."
Ferry Corsten featuring Betty Larkin ("Made of Love")- "Made of Love" conveys a powerful mood of persistence and always believing in the power of love.
Basshunter ("All I Ever Wanted" DJ Alex Extended)- "All I Ever Wanted" communicates a touching musical story about a man who wanted to bring joy to their lover.
Disc Two:
Eleze ("Teardrop" Fonzerelli Remix)-"Teardrop" is an exciting dance take on the unique chill-out version found on Pure Moods Vol. 2 compilation (by Massive Attack).
Jes ("Imagination" Tiesto Remix)- "Imagination" by Jes is a gorgeous song about spiritually connecting with someone through the mind. I had the good fortune of first hearing of "Imagination' from a greatest hits collection by Jes. Words can only begin to describe the beauty of this musical gem.
"Ultra-Trance 09" is a compelling two cd set to obtain for anyone who likes various artist electronica/dance music collections.

This review is from: Ultra Trance 9 (Audio CD)
I thought the first cd is better than the 2nd cd, but 2nd is just as good as the first, that's just my opinion. Either way they pretty much hold up well. So definitly buy this!!
