This seat is NOT heated as described. It is somewhat better than a regular toilet seat but in order to "feel" any heat, you are required to buy a larger transformer that the manufacturer happens to sell. I am very very disappointed. We are planning to see if we can pick up one at radio shack. This seat comes with a "cover" lid and using the transformer supplied, you MUST leave the cover down at all times and even then it is only marginally better than a non-heated seat. Aside from that, I love the feel of this seat. It is soft but firm. No "gel" type of feel that I was worried about. I believe the materials make it less cold feeling than regular seats. I was also concerned the materials would make it difficult to clean but so far it has been great in that regard. It also fits well on our elongated toilet bowl. If not for the lame transformer, I'd give it a 5 star review.

Just to update my review. We were not able to find a transformer anywhere else for this toilet seat and will be required to purchase it from the company. It sells for 14.95 + shipping minimum of 9.92 to my east coast location. This expense pushes the price of the seat to over $100.

In addition, I forgot to mention there is a paper with information about this when you first open the package. It states that the lid must be kept down to maintain proper temperature AND "...the seat is designed to maintain a minimum average temperature of 90 degrees in a 68 degree room with the lid down". When your body temperature is 98.6 - 90 degrees does not feel heated so much. I will try to update once we get the larger transformer. The information sheet included again states there are two optional transformers available. A 16.5 volt and an 18 volt.

Have had 2 seats for 2 bathrooms. They are great IF you remember to Keep the top down otherwise the heat escapes.
The literature states they are easy to clean. True. It also states you can place it in the dishwasher using the easy detachment method. I WOULDN'T. Will probably fail to work after that. I unhinged one of my seats to give it a thorough cleaning. I first had to detach the electrical connection (plug-in type - male to female). After cleaning the seat I went to reinstall it. The cord from the seat dangled into the toilet while installing. I thoroughly dried the female end and let it sit 2 hours for additional air drying. I reconnected it to the male end (going to the wall outlet). DEAD!!!! I did report this malfunction to the manufacturer when I ordered a new seat from them. The customer service rep was sympathetic and gave me free shipping for a new unit which is on its way as I type.
In summary: A good unit that works as advertised. DON'T EVER LET THE ELECTRICAL CONTACTS GET WET!!!!

The heat is okay if you live in a place not frigidly cold. The contact between my wire and the seat actually turned brown and cracked in about 6 moths. They sent me a new one without much hassel, I definitely will buy another one for my other bathroom.

I told my wife for Christmas that I would be getting her a present that she would love, and that she would use every day, yet never tell her friends about it. After the first one was replaced for being defective, we've enjoyed this everyday! You do need to keep the lid down for it to maintain its proper temperature, and there are some times it feels warmer than others, but overall a good idea!

Once we received a replacement seat from manufacturer because the first one didn't work, we've been very satisfied with heating capability. The seat material is a soft/supple rubber material that tends not to get as cold as the traditional wooden and plastic seats. Then with the heater, it works excellent. Easy to install, less than ~15 minutes once you read through instructions. Highly recommend. My wife can't stop raving about it.

I absolutely love my new heated toilet seat. It was easy to install, fit perfectly (I bought the elongated one), white in color and it was a perfect blend of white. I of course wish it did not need to be plugged into an outlet. Thankfully, the cord is very small and thin, they give you extra lenghts of cord plus you can order extra. (MIne is run along the baseboards and behind a door so it is hardly noticeable.)
The heated seat is perfectly warm, it does keep it 20-25 degrees warmer than the room. The warmer your bathroom the warmer the seat. I have had mine for a month, during the coldest part of the winter and it has been fantastic. Even in the summer it will be great because I keep my house very cool.

I recommend this highly!!

I bought this for my husband for Christmas to use at the cabin. The seat does not heat at all, not even 1 degree.
Huge waste of money!!!!

The toilet seat is absolutely perfect. It heats just enough to make the seat warm and the antomicrobal coating on the seat area makes it feel very soft. This was exactly what I was looking for as I already have the bidet. It was shipped very quickly, packaged very well and we are totally happy with it.

I just installed this heated toilet seat two days ago, as cold weather has set in here in Wisconsin. I keep our house, including the bathroom, quite cool during the winter months. Even though it's been only two days, the seat has relieved the "shock" of that cold seat! So far, so good. I can't address durability, but I'm satisfied with the results so far. It's not body heat warm, which I think ultimately would be uncomfortable. But I'm certainly pleased with the seat being above room temperature.

Installation was easy; I left off the sticky pads that hold the fasteners to the toilet, as I will probably reinstall the standard toilet seat in Spring.

This is a pricey purchase, but I'm hoping that the comfort it provides during the long Wisconsin winters will more than outweigh the cost.
