I redeem the UltraViolet code on Flixster. In the past UltraViolet codes have always worked everywhere when I redeemed them at any of the online sites. However this code doesn't seem to work at Vudu. Which seems weird because I could of redeemed the code at Vudu instead of Flixster. I tried to use the code a 2nd time at Vudu, but it says it is not valid.

Why can't I play back @ vudu if I redeemed at Flixster?
Is the same true if you redeem this movie at Vudu, will it not work at flixster?

I have over 100 UltraViolet movies, this is the first that wasn't compatible on both Vudu and Flixster when they are both listed on the redemption card.

I like UltraViolet, but I just dislike all this unseen rules and exceptions.

Grimmy says:
If you haven't yet, you need to link your Vudu and Flixster accounts with UV.

If this is already done, then you need to login to UV and change the settings for each account, something about allowing changes from each vendor.

That fixed my problem. Should fix yours.

How do I like my Flixter to UV, I haven't found where to do that. I already have my Vudu and UV linked (I guess).

Grimmy says:
Try logging in to UV, then Our Collection - Our Account - Account Settings, then look at the Linked Services

Then "allow changes" for each.

Yes, it's a bit confusing

I just talked to Vudu on the phone @ +18885548838

This is what I was told.
This version of blade runner is called "Blade Runner: The Final Cut Special Edition" note the "Special Edition" because I redeemed it at flixster.com @ http://www.flixster.com/movie/blade-runner-1982/

I had the option to redeem the code @ vudu, but because I redeemed the UV code at Flixster and they added "Speical Edition" to the name it doesn't match up with Vudu copy @ http://www.vudu.com/movies/#!content/129093/Blade-Runner-The-Final-Cut

the movie shows up at uvvu.com as "Blade Runner: The Final Cut Special Edition"

They said if I would of redeemed it at vudu, it would of worked.

Did any of you redeem the code at vudu instead of flixster, if so does it work at both or just vudu?

It should also be mentioned that this verion of Blade Runner was only sold at Wallmart, with is a huge Vudu partner. amazon copies are all just resalers that went to wallmart.

I don't have this movie, but had similar issue with another movie. Changing those settings at UV fixed it. Hopefully works for you.

Sam Beckett says:
No, it did not. The option is now just called "Our Account->Account Settings->Manage Account" and they are all checked to YES.
Manage UltraViolet account members and players through Flixster Digital Locker.
You are authorizing account management to be performed through Flixster Digital Locker. You and other authorized UltraViolet account members can access, view, and change account settings and member details in in your UltraViolet account, including creating and deleting members and adding and removing devices, through Flixster Digital Locker

The problem is with the title being different at vudu.com then it is at uvvu.com.

Am I correct that, if I have an Ultraviolet movie, that I CANNOT watch it on my Kindle Fire HD through Vudu, and instead I need to watch it through Flixster? And, if so, will I be able to watch that same e-movie through either Vudu OR Flixster on my I-Pad? Or, once I choose to redeem a U.V. movie through Flixster, I'm stuck with that service, and stuck with watching it on my I-Pad, forever?

Grimmy says:
It depends which service you use to redeem it, IIRC. You can use that service on any platform, if it is available on that platform.

UV movies can usually be redeemed on any service, e.g. you can choose whether to use Flixster, VUDU, etc. Usually.

G. J. Newman says:
Okay, Grimmy, but if I choose to initially redeem a given movie on Flixster (so I can watch it on my Kindle Fire HD), does that mean that the same movie will NOT be available on Vudu? Or can a U.V. movie be available at the same time on two different services--Flixster AND Vudu--if my U.V. account shows both services as "linked"?

Sam Beckett says:
UV movies **SHOULD be available on other services. If you redeem on Vudu you should be able to playback on Flixster and vice versa.

When you redeem a movie it is added to your main http://www.uvvu.com/ account. This account then syncs with all of your ultra-violet accounts. Besides Flixster and Vudu, you can playback UV movies at https://www.mgo.com & bestbuy cinemaNow & even paramont even has an android app that has playback.

the issue with this movie is that the digital version is out of sync between flixster and vudu. which is not the norm.

sometimes some movies only playback on different services, but they are getting better....

ultra-violet movies are very confusing with the number of sites you have to use... all the distributors want you to visit their store.. you will end up creating ALL of the following accounts:

https://my.uvvu.com
cinemanow
flixster
mgo
paramountmovies
sonypictures
universal hi def
vudu
mynook.barnesandnoble http://www.barnesandnoble.com/u/ultraviolet/379003862/

9 accounts for a movie collection, so simple! you also have to remember what movies are accessible on each service...
hopefully in the future they will make a central place to redeem all movies, instead of having to access so many different sites to redeem.

Just to clarify the UV/vudu codes are included as part of the 30th Anniversary blu-ray set? If so, which cuts of the film are redeemable using the code(s)?

Thanks!

Donna Martin says:
Just bought one of those fancy DVD players that, in addition to playing DVDs, also gives access to Netflux, Hulu, YouTube, and, joy of joys, VUDU. So...how do I access my (much larger) Flux sterling collection..?

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 26, 2015 1:42:03 PM PST
Amazon messes with UV in that SOME titles just won't be avaialble
to watch on a Kindle Fire tablet or using a Fire stick streaming device.

I would use a Roku or Apple TV as my main device.
