Product Description

Ultracide Spray contains Permethrin and Phenothrin to kill adult fleas fast. It also contains Pyripoxyfen (an insect growth regulator) to prevent reinfestation for up to seven months. Pyripoxyfen penetrates deep into the base of carpet and upholstery fibers, where pre-adult fleas live and targets fleas in the egg and larval stages of development, preventing them from producing new infestations of breeding, biting adults. While the insect growth regulator in Ultracide will continue to work for up to 7 months, it is recommended to re-apply Ultracide after 14 days if new fleas continue to emerge. This will increase knock-down of new adults. Preparations and cleaning such as vacuuming thoroughly before and after treatments will also greatly affect the success of Ultracide. See below for complete treatment instructions. Utracide Target Pests Flea eggs and larvae, adult fleas PESTS CONTROLLED WITH ULTRACIDE: all stages of fleas Target Uses of Ultracide For indoor treatment of active flea infestations and to prevent flea infestations from developing. I used this spray to coat my stairway (on the carpet and the walls to prevent the fleas from coming upstairs into my space) My unique situation is that my roommate (who lives on the floor below me) has a dog with a flea problem and no desire to do anything about it. Apparently he can't feel the fleas but I can (and so can the dog as I see him scratching all the time). This has been frustrating to no end because I am unable to eradicate the problem at the source and am left trying to figure out a way to keep the bugs from getting upstairs. It doesn't help that the dog is all over me when I walk in the door. I have no doubt that I carry them upstairs. He also has a favorite spot at the base of the stairs. The fleas probably just hop right on up the stairs as the upstairs are carpeted and the downstairs has a stone floor. I have tried many things and have found my favorite products. As of today my flea issues are close to gone (The dog is still scratching though, so it will be interesting to see how bad things get downstairs.)

So, in terms of the ultracide, what did I think? I think it's one of the most powerful sprays on the market. Compared to sprays I bought from the local Walmart, it is MUCH more powerful. It is also MUCH more toxic smelling. The downside of using all these chemicals to deal with flea problems is that they make you feel as sick as the fleas. When I sprayed this stuff on my stairwell it was like dropping a nuclear bomb on the fleas. I found them scattered on my kitchen floor where they had jumped to escape the spray but all of them were dead. It's not much of a surprise that they were. I had to use a thick towel folded over many times and put over my mouth to keep out the toxic smell.

For the last 3 months, I have invested about $150 in CRAP to rid my house of fleas! Everything prior to this spray FAILED: Flea powder for carpet, Salt on the Carpet, setting off flea bombs, vinegar in the dogs drinking water, brewers yeast tablets w/ garlic, Frontline for the dogs, the bowl of water at night trick with the light over it, spraying the lawn with crap from Home Depot.... etc!!!!

THIS SPRAY SAVED ME! I was actually the one getting eaten alive, so this stuff was a blessing. I hope it lasts for more than a month. I plan on buying another can and spraying in about 6-8 weeks just for extra measure.

Please note that I live in a 1,500 sq foot house and I JUST had enough to do the house. This can will NOT treat anything bigger. If you have a flea problem, get this spray. It has now been 2 days and I have only seen 2 fleas.... normally I would have seen about 20-30 .

This product was great. We sprayed it everywhere and I have only seen one flea since (my cat must of brought it in). It didn't have a strong strong odor but we left the house after spraying and returned 3 hours later to no smell at all. There is quite a bit in this can we have a 1 bedroom apartment and my fiancee sprayed and like double sprayed. He also sprayed a bit outside and we still have some left. So if you are battling fleas in your home this spray is great but it is not good for animals that is why is suggests some sort of other treatment for your pet like frontline ( well I don't recommend that it doesn't work for crap and is overly expensive with no results! ). Good luck and sorry you are in the predicament you are in it sucks and is never ending to say the least.

EDIT: It is now July 19th and I have yet to see a single flea! It is still an ongoing battle with the fleas on my pets but I am surprised to still not have seen one flea in my house I have one full grown cat and two kittens who are every where in my house very happy with my purchase!

Edit: It's now November and our flea battle has been over for quite some time. Even with my cats in and out there is still not one sign of a flea. This product was the only thing I used for the house and I haven't sprayed again since the first time.

First, this is a chemical spray type of application. Use common sense when using it. Don't use it if there are going to be people or animals in the area right after it is applied. Give it a couple hours before you use that area. and as with any product, things like washing carpets can remove the product. don't forget, fleas don't just grow in carpets, but under and on furniture as well.

I have used this product many times in the past, and have always had good luck with it, but I have seen many people say that it worked at first but.. Well, to all of those people, I would say, start looking at other factors other then your own. Yes, you may be doing something to get rid of them, but what about people and areas around you. If you have a neighbor that has an infestation, then you know that, even though you get rid of them, they will still be coming over from your neighbors place. and if you live in an apartment, then it is going to happen even quicker. If you have friend that comes over that has fleas, then the fleas will attach to their clothes and drop off when they come over to your house. 1 female flea can lay a couple dozen eggs in one day, and it only takes maybe a couple weeks for them to do the same. If you have 20 fleas that lay 20 eggs, you now have 400 new fleas. So yes, this is a great product, but if the problem lies in infestations outside your house, then they are going to keep coming back no matter what you do. dont blame the product if the problem lies in your environment, or the one around you, and not in the ability of the product to work.

As for remarks on the can about them (fleas) not being able to come back in that area. I would say, use common sense here.
