The Ultrak 495Y stopwatch is very good. I use it in coaching crews. It's easy to use the stopwatch mode and punch the start button at the beginning of a race or time trial and then transfer immediately to the stroke mode and start measuring the stroke (the 'rate', or number of strokes per minute) of a crew. This watch requires timing three full strokes to measure the rate; other watches can measure rate by timing only two or even just one stroke, but I believe they're a lot more expensive. Timing three strokes is not so bad unless there are 10 or 12 crews in the race, which is quite rare.
As the crew moves down the course one can catch their time to reach selected points, such as the 200-meter mark or the 500-meter, and then the 1000-meter mark, while also measuring their rate again as often as one wishes; and finally one can catch their time for the full distance as they cross the finish line. The watch comes in black or yellow; I prefer yellow in case one accidently lets it drop in the drink. Packaging, handling & promptness of delivery (via UPS) was excellent.

This is a very good stopwatch watch for measuring cycle times. We've used them for a number of years throughout our manufacturing plant. We have purchased about 30 of them and have been very satisfied with the functionality. I know there are cheaper stopwatches, but I would definitely recommend this model.

I would like to now how can I restart. Because I heard about some stopwatch that we must click 2 to 5 seconds in the start button to restart. Is this stopwatch the same?
