1. The product works pretty much as advertised. I wish that vendor had provided some information as to actual size of item as "Jumbo" doesn't mean much. For anyone considering this item the actual dimensions are 0 ft.-3-1/4 in. x 0 Ft. 2-3/4 in. x approx. 0 ft. 0-3/4 inches deep including magnetic clip. (Screen size 0 ft. -2-1/2 in. x 0 ft.-1-1/2 in.

I like the Ultrak timer a lot. I am a teacher at a school where our schedule changes every day. It is great to have the large LCD panel in front of my desk, so that I can easily see exactly how much time I have left in a period. The timer is easy to use and operate. The one feature that would be nice to have would be the abiilty to reset the time without cycling through 99 minutes or 60 seconds. If the Ultrak had a memory for 3-5 set times, it would make the device perfect.

We use these timers at our Martial Arts Gym for running our training rounds. I've been buying these for 3 years now.

The LCD is bigger and the alarm is louder than the timers you can buy in Walmart or other stores.

The alarm is loud enough to hear over the busy gym noise and good for its size.

Very dependable and takes alot of abuse from our instructors.

I'm keeping this as a backup but will probably never use it. There are three annoying things that prevent me from using this as my regular countdown timer.

1) There is no HOUR button. To set the time for 60min you have to cycle through the minutes from 0 to 60.
2) When setting the time, each button press or minute advancement gives you a loud beep.
3) When the time has count down to zero, it beeps but does not stop. You have to rush to it and physically press a button to stop the beeps.
4) No volume adjustment for the alarm.

Pros:
1. Large and easy to read numbers
2. If you let it time out to zero it will remember the starting time for next time.

After purchasing several timers from other manufactuers (namely Taylor and Polder) that I was very dissapointed with due to poor quality, odd features (such as random beeps before the set time was reached) and lack of durability for some components (namely, the displays), I finally stumbled across this item. In short, I wish I had found it first. It is a solid little unit, with a nice display, no random beeps that occur before the countdown is finished, and comes at a reasonable price. Also, the alarm is loud, but not too loud for my taste.

To make a long story short...this one has met my needs quite well.

Fine timer, large numbers and loud alarm so that my hearing aid equipped ears can hear when it goes off. Have had one for 18 mos. and the original batter still operates it. Liked it so much we bought 3 more and scattered them around the house. Like the magnet that lets it stick to refrigerator, file cabinet, etc. and the stand that sits it upright anywhere. Original one has been dropped dozens of time and has no problems.

It is convenient, however, it is very noisy with no adjustment to lower or turn off the sound every time you push a button. Can't turn it off, the battery just drains and drains. Everytime it accidently touches something in my drawer it makes the sound again. very frustrating.

I purchased this Timer / clock and it stopped working after a few hours. I had a second one shipped to me and it worked exactly 1 minute before it stopped working. Do NOT buy this item.
