5.0 out of 5 stars Best of both worlds
I rotate a pair of these in my wireless mouse. It is an earlier model that eats up batteries much faster than the new generation ones. I used to have to swap them out every 4-7 Days but these last for 3-4 weeks with heavy use. It's also true that they hold their charge when not in use. I've seen it first hand. I will not be buying any other Ni-MH than Hybrio. I came here...

1.0 out of 5 stars You sent the Wrong Product!!
The batteries you sent were NOT "Hybrio", they were "Ultralast", and they're terrible. They do NOT even energize the radio for which I bought and paid for the batteries. I have a set of Hybrio, and they work fine.

What a waste!!!!

They are $TEN at Fry's every day! $Fifteen here at time of writing this. :(

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not the clear winner, September 16, 2008
This review is from: Ultralast AA Hybrio Ready-To-Use Rechargeable Battery Retail Pack - 4 Pack (Electronics)
Having a few sets of Eneloops, I bought some of these to see how they compared since they are rated at 2100mAh. There were some reviews saying they top the Eneloop. In a nutshell, these came out exactly the same mAh range as the Sanyo Eneloop.

In two 4-packs, they ranged between 2080 and 2160mAh after putting them through a few cycles to condition the batteries. That's exactly the same range as the Sanyo Eneloop 2000mAh batteries wound up. I was expecting these to top the Eneloop by around 100mAh or maybe even a little more, but that wasn't the case.

These do have a 'cool factor' with the label. Much better than the bland white label.

Since I can find the Eneloops for about eight bucks, I'll use those. These Hybrio's don't have any advantages.

They are both great batteries, so whatever you find less expensive, snag them. They last a good, long while.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally a rechargeable that works like an Alkaline, June 10, 2008
This review is from: Ultralast AA Hybrio Ready-To-Use Rechargeable Battery Retail Pack - 4 Pack (Electronics)
These batteries do exactly as they advertise. I have a pair of Hybrios in an old digital camera that I don't use often (only take a few shots a week with it). It has been a YEAR since I've put them in and I've yet to recharge them.

I've used normal NiMH rechargeables for years, and they'd always lose so much charge after just a few weeks of non-use that they could not even power up my camera (cameras require a lot more base charge in order to operate than simple electronics such as flashlights, which will use a battery til it's dry). These Hybrios, however, are still powering up my camera after a whole year, and still have yet to need a recharge. (of course they'd run out if I used the camera more often, but that'd be due to use, and not self-discharge from sitting around unused).

I'm not sure how they work, but I know that these and other "low self-discharge" NiMH rechargeables are structurally different than a normal NiMH, which is the key to their long shelf life; i.e., its amazing shelf life is not just due to the quality of materials used, but rather how it's constructed.

Definitely a great rechargeable. I'm never buying a regular NiMH again.

I am very impressed by these batteries. I took them out of the package and put them in my digital camera without even charging them. And now it's 3 weeks later and they're still working strong! I'm so glad I don't have to put the date into my camera every time I want to use it because I'm changing out the batteries every other day. The other two were put into the WII remote and are lasting about 10X longer than the rechargeable batteries we used before. The HYBRIO doesn't drain like your typical rechargeable battery. They're awesome!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Batteries......, December 28, 2009

I just bought a dozen of these to replace some eneloops and other standard NiMH batteries. I use rechargeable batteries for typical slow draining devices, ie (keyboards, mice, flashlights, etc.) The problem I have had in the past is standard NiMh batteries drain in a few weeks with or without use. I was having to charge my batteries in my mice every few weeks. These batteries are lasting as long per charge as a standard Alkaline battery. Best part is I have found these for $5 for a set of 4 from a local electronics chain. Due to the cost savings over the eneloops and they work just as well if not better. I have seen reviews on these that actually blow the eneloops away. I can attest that they work well and charge very near actual capacity as shown on my BC-9009 charger. For the price, you can not go wrong with these.

[...] recommended the Enelope. These are pretty much the same and give me full power cycle time in my strobe of about 3 seconds. Outstanding!

The product works well for me; I don't have anymore the problem of recharged batteries which lose the charge.

4.0 out of 5 stars wonderful batteries but be aware of voltage rating, October 15, 2009

This review is from: Ultralast AA Hybrio Ready-To-Use Rechargeable Battery Retail Pack - 4 Pack (Electronics)
I got these batteries and they are wonderful for most purposes. But be aware that they are 1.25V, not 1.5, so if you have a device that needs the full voltage of 1.5V batteries, it will report low battery from the start. I have one, that's how I noticed they were 1.25.
