Price was the motivator on this purchase. The last time I replaced a battery on my phone system it was $19.95 for one battery at a popular consumer electronics retailer. I purchased two batteries with shipping for under $18 through Amazon. I can't evaluate battery life as I've only had them for a month but at this price if they last 18 months (and I hope for 24-30 months) it was a good purchase. They hold a charge well and have good talk time.

I have a wonderful AT&T cordless speaker phone. The speaker is so good that no one knows I am on the speaker phone. I don't want to give it up just because the battery is dead, yet I had hard time finding a replacement battery that fits.

I had no problem finding a good replacement for the first three batteries, but the battery I will need the next time has given me trouble. One of them I purchased on Amazon, I had to return this Replacement Battery For AT&T 2419 CDP24201 CPH-505 because it never got charged, continued to display "Check battery" after 24 hours.

Finally, Ultralast UL-419 battery has fit and got charged overnight. I don't know about its longevity, because I just bought it and want to have on hand when the current battery runs out. I often work from home, and have many conferences with my co-workers on the phone, so I use the phone a lot. At this heavy use my previous phone batteries lasted 6-8 months (I need it to hold the charge for at least 30 minutes, as most meetings last at least that long).

Given the problems of finding a good fit my recommendation is
1) Try charging the battery as soon as you receive to make sure it can be charged (even if you are not planning to use the new battery right away)
2) If you get "check battery" warning, wiggle it before giving up. This battery needed a bit of wiggling before
it began charging.
3) Always buy from Amazon/fulfilled from Amazon (even if the price slightly higher), as Amazon return policy is exceptional. They will reimburse you for shipping the product back, not only for the product itself and the original shipping. Update 3/19/2011
Since this battery worked, I ordered another one. It just arrived and I had trouble with it. The phone's charger did not see it. I noticed that it had a looser fit than the battery that worked, so I put a piece of a rubber band between the case and the battery where there was no contacts. This pushed the battery into the contact and then the charger saw the battery. So these batteries are slightly undersized to make a good fit.
Since I made it work I am keeping it... but I am reducing the stars to 3 stars, since the fit varies from battery to battery, and does not always work right out of the box.
I am posting a picture showing how I 'fixed' the fit of the battery.

I needed four batteries for the eight year old cordless phones in our home, as they were all dying at the same time. The batteries I found in the brick and mortar stores near me would have cost the same as purchasing a new phone system. All four batteries work well and at a portion of the price.

great replacement battery--------------would definitely purchase again.the mah's were 50 more than the stock battery from my at&t phone.charge the unit for about 16 hours when you receive your new battery.it should work without a hitch.

Bought this product less than 2 months ago and battery already dead and not taking a charge. Do not spend your money on this Chineese knock off product. Someone please let me know which battery is worth buying.

Cmae already charged and as soon as I put in the phone, it was like a brand new phone all over again.

After recharge, my phone only can be used for less than 20 minutes. do not recommend this product to other, waste money.
