5.0 out of 5 stars great scale!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best out there.
Can be hard to zero. It has gotten a bit finicky when I try to zero the scale. Since I purchased I have seen many others that I would have chosen. I guess I basically got what I paid for.

The detachable (on a cable tether) control panel/display allows you to put very large items on the scale, and still be able to read the display.

It's small and lightweight.

All in all, exactly what I was looking for!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the money, February 8, 2008

We've owned this scale for a few weeks, and it works as expected. It appears accurate (though we've not tested it against official weights). The included AC adapter works fine, but we put 4 C batteries in to make it more convenient (no info yet on how long they last with intermittent use).

The build quality of the scale is decent, certainly for the price. The display detatches, though somewhat trickily.

On the whole, the scale is excellent for the price and the capacity. I've recommended it to friends already.

4.0 out of 5 stars Promised Wrong Color, but still a rad scale, August 23, 2007
This review is from: Ultraship 75 Lb Electronic Digital Shipping Postal Kitchen Scale (Electronics)
Let's get the bad stuff out of the way first. I was promised a black scale but when it came it was silver. No biggie. We're talking about the scale right?

It works great for my all around shipping needs. I mail everything... and I mean EVERY kind of weight and so I needed a scale that could do light stuff and heavy stuff.

When I first got it I thought it was broken because the weight would keep bouncing up and down and wouldn't stay still. Later I realized that its because of how sensitive it is. When I put a package on it, it read true!

From mailing things weighing only 4oz. to mailing things weighing 30lbs. it reads exactly as it needs to. Cool deal huh? I for sure say this scale is good. IT IS a little ghetto. I mean, we're not dealing with high quality craftsmanship, but it does exactly what I need it to do... and in a world full of every techno gadget out there, that's hard to come by.

I'd been looking for a while to get a scale that could handle heavier shipping weights, but everything I saw was well over $100 and could only go up to about 20 lbs. But this is a very accurate scale at an amazing price, and even more amazing, it's accurate enough for letters and fractions of ounces. It IS made of plastic, so I wouldn't want to give this a heavy workout on the loading dock every day, but we ship out between 2 and 10 boxes every week, and it's been great for that. The detachable face is key to being able to weigh large boxes -- but because of the relatively small tray, your box may spill over the sides of the scale and wobble a bit, giving you a reading that jumps around. My way around this has been to place a small sheet of 1/4-inch plywood below what I'm weighing to give it a stiff base.

5.0 out of 5 stars Accurate Scale, November 23, 2008

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've used this for about a month now. I ship packages almost every day and it's important to get an accurate reading anywhere from a 50 lb FedEx box to a 5 oz bubble mailer. This scale does it easily, quickly, and accurately. When I weigh a package it's been accurate every time...matching the post office perfectly and at most is off by .1 oz from the FedEx scale ( but the FedEx scale may be off who knows? ).
Highly recommended.

The only disappointment is that the AC adapter was optional as well as the seller did not respond to email query.

I have a small business that ships everyday and was looking for an electronic scale for postage weights and weights on merchadise, and as usual Amazon had a great choice, a scale that lets you detach the display module to weigh large boxes or luggage yet still read the weight. Has any feature that you would want: tare, calibration and choice of grams or ounces, kilograms or pounds. Runs on AC adaptor (not included) or batteries with an auto shutoff. It's only limitation is that it cannot weigh to the closest gram which would be nice.
But it is well built and is as good as scales that cost over a hundred dollars so it's a bargain for anyone needing to weigh things at home or business.

5.0 out of 5 stars Versatile and Easy to Use Scale, January 10, 2009
My husband wanted a kitchen scale to use in baking and I wanted a postal scale--and then found one that could do both as well as weigh suitcases for checked baggage(this scale can handle up to 75 pounds!). Great product--easy to use--the power adapter makes it especially handy. Quick service from the vendor. The free power adapter hadn't been included in the original shipment, but an e-mail to the vendor provided speedy service and the adapter arrived in several days.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good scale, but VERY MISLEADING SELLER, February 23, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Ultraship 75 Lb Electronic Digital Shipping Postal Kitchen Scale (Electronics)
The scale is fine for what I need. The seller, who claims to be honest, is completely misleading in both the picture and the description about the AC adapter for this item. I contacted Amazon.com and was cut off not ONCE but TWICE trying to get this resolved. Then I contacted the seller who told me the AC adapter doesn't come with this item and it is stated so in the description. I beg to differ! Change your description to tell the truth!!!

They will NOT send you an adapter and the seller doesn't carry the adapter. So, you can either purchase one from another vendor or return your item. Those are the only choices.

Update 2/26 - The seller claims that Amazon is responsible for all pictures and descriptions and there is nothing they can do about it.

I bought this scale mainly for weighing items for my R/C collection, but I can use it for just about anything with a 75lb rating. This product is just great. It is very accurate and gives you options for metric and standard scales of measurement. It works on 110v and also batteries. Plus the face control panel is removable for weighing large items. What more could you ask for with a low price like this one. I love it.
