Product Description

Foldable, closed-back high quality headphones with very exclusive design and extraordinary sound, offering the highest standard of technologies: S-Logic Natural Surround Sound Plus MU Metal shielding (ULE-technology) Safer hearing Technical specifications S-Logic Natural Surround Sound Plus Dynamic principle Frequency range 15-25.000 Hz Impedance 75 Ohm Sound pressure level 99 dB MU Metal bufferboard, reduced field emissions in accordance with ULE (=Ultra Low Emission) standard Driver 40 mm gold-plated Weight 285 g (without cord) Straight cord, length ca 3 m 3,5/6,3 mm screwable gold-plated plug Transportation bag Demo CD Instruction manual Long-term availability of spare parts Character Eye-catching exclusive design and sand-grey coated. Experience the complete isolation of closed-back headphones and the honest sound of open ones. The high class gold-plated drivers of the HFI-680 are very sensitive and provide a maximum of transparency. ULE-technology To understand what ULE-technology does, you need to know that most headphone drivers produce low-frequency magnetic fields as they convert an electric signal into an acoustical signal you hear as music. In response, Ultrasone developed a special MU Metal shielding (ULE-technology) to reduce the radiation by up to 98% compared to current headphones. The ULE-technology has stood the test of international review and is recommended by technical surveillance organisations. S-Logic Plus S-Logic Plus is the enhanced version of the S-Logic System. The specific acoustically designed earcups of the new HFI models and their stereo tonal fine tuning of the acoustic reinforcing devices present sophisticated sound and technology. Due to an additional damping, drivers and the bufferboard complement one another with the new spatial sounding unit. The final result is a most neutral sound impression including optimized distance perception of voices and instruments.

1. Easy to drive...so you do not need to have a separate headphone amp, although most headphones will sound better with one. Sounds great on iPhones and iPods.

2. Big bass! So if you listen to dance, electronic or rock etc. you will like these earphones. Bass is controlled well though...not 'boomy' or sloppy as per the HiFi780.

3. High end can sound a little sharp to start with, but after a few months of use they will soften. Mid's are good...controlled and detailed.

4. Well made. Solid construction...they do not creak or feel cheap...very much the opposite.

5. Comfortable to wear, although the headband can be tight at first...again though this will loosen as you wear them. i left mine one an arm chair arm over night...and they feel much better now. This sounds a bit stupid, but its very common for the manufacturer to have the headband air on the smaller side, as its easy to stretch them to fit a larger head...but hard to shrink them for a smaller head.

Overall I am really happy with these earphones and I think anyone that listens to electronic music will be as well. Amazon also has the best price I could find! $140 (US) from Amazon....they sell for almost $400 in Australia. Thats a huge saving and an absolute steel for the quality of these earphones.

For years I got sucked into the technology progression of smaller, more portable sounds that I could take on travel. I was recently using my Klipsch ear buds on the computer to listen in on music videos and to my library and decided it was time to return to some solid listening with a good set of headphones. I live near a medium sized city so it wasn't all that easy to listen before purchase so I just said to heck with it and bought these on line. These headphones are very nice to wear and very, very nice to listen with. I have owned a variety of high-end stereos with great speakers for 30 years and these h-phones rate with the best, although the headphone experience will always be different than speakers and that is neither positive nor negative. My listening includes mainly jazz, blues, and a growing collection of world music utilizing many different acoustic instruments and electronic sounds. The fun of this includes listening to all my music over again as it all sounds different now. Great choice. Excellent listening experience!

I'm not a headphone guy but I do have a good ear and these are great 'phones. I bought them when I realized how crippling it is to only have one set of cans in my little studio. So I decided to let the recording engineer (me) listen to the mix live with these nice little puppies. It was a good call. These things are so good they have me experimenting with listening through them for pleasure even though I already have $4k worth of listening equipment. Accuracy was what I wanted, though, and here I have to give these a ding. Everything above the presence range is exaggerated enough to get a little in the way of the presence range. My caveat on that one, though, is than they've only been broken in about 20 hours--the minimum, I understand, recommended by the manufacturer. So maybe they'll balance out a little more with continued use. Also, I can't let myself forget your ears have to adjust to a new transducer, too.

These headphones are awesome. They have great sound quality, deep base (not overpowering like beats), really good mids, and highs. I have to admit the highs are a little sharp at first, but after the cans are broken in they sound much better. I use them mainly for listening to music, all kinds from classical, rock, hip hop, dubstep, and oldies. They're also awesome for watching Netflix. You get that movie theater sound quality from your laptop while in your bed naked and eating cheetoes. The S-Logic isn't a problem for me, I've heard it doesn't sound natural but it sounds good to me.

Pros: Build Quality is great, they feel expensive.

Cons: Cord is really really long and they take a bit to break in.

The HFI-680s sound fantastic overall, and probably the best sounding Ultrasone I have tried since they sound wonderful with any music genre I listen to, I also do gaming and watch movies and it sounds very real and enjoying. The mids on these seem kind of forward and clear, I have listened to classical music and it is like right in front of you, and is that crystal clear, even relaxation music you can hear the water, wind, birds, everything naturally like you are actually there. The only thing is the subbass and midbass on these are sort of flat, but the highs and mids are crystal clear. The only thing I dislike about these are the poor comfort level, which are an hour or so they get fatigueing and feels like they're clamping my head tightly, so you should probably get more comfortable earpads for these.

Edit, after buying the Ultrasone Pro 750s I have noticed that these have just about the same sound signature as them, the only major differences is the Pro 750s have alittle better soundstage presentation and are abit more comfortable around the ears, I would say spend the extra money and buy the Pro 750s, they are worth it!
