I won't have the chance to find out if these work or not because the ticking is driving me crazy! It ticks about every 5 seconds. It is in my kitchen and I will have to unplug it to go to sleep, I can hear it all the way in my bedroom! Don't waste your money on this.

I have about 2 of these in every room of my house. I wanted to over-do it rather than under because in addition to mice, I noticed I had problems with fleas and moths. For three weeks I couldn't find any of these three! And as the label warns, there is a possibility of stubborn pests getting used to the sound and returning. Which they have. My dog still has fleas, and the moths hang out by my kitchen light which is about 3 inches above one of these devices! An it is far from silent, a house guest could not sleep until he asked us to unplug one! It may not be "harmful" to pets, but my dog can certainly hear it and seems aggitated and irritated by the constant clicks. There are gnats in my back room that seem to enjoy the noise!?! They actually came around after I had these and weren't dissuaded at all by the super-sonic deterrent. The three stars were earned because it did seem to drive the mice around to the side of the house, and Sunbeam makes no claim to work through walls and around corners, so I felt it did what was promised with the mice, (although it did not solve my problem.) I don't think this product was worth the 5 minutes it took to plug them in.

I bought 3 of these from Bed Bath and Beyond for around the same price as here and this was a complete waste of money.First,these are NOT silent.They give an annoying tick every few seconds.So if you have more than 1 plugged in at a time,its unbearable to be home with all the racket going on.Second,they don't work!I had a ant problem in my kitchen and these things didn't even make them flinch.I'll stick with sprays from now on.

purchased 3 to prevent roaches from coming into the house. i noticed that the repeller seems to disorient them and they turn upside down and eventually die. i am buying more because i noticed roaches upstairs where i do not have these repellers. strongly recommend getting these for roaches. i dont have a rat problem but not sure if its because of these repellers.
