It's a plant stand too!,

I turn (one of) my Umbra wastebaskets upside down and it makes a pretty decent, and fairly inexpensive small plant stand. (Of course it is highly recommended to completely empty the can before you redeploy the unit as a stand)

Beautiful real-wood-look of practical, washable plastic,

This review is from: Umbra Treela 3-Gallon Polypropylene Waste Can, Cherry Wood grain (Kitchen)
The cherrywood-look version is beautiful; it looks like high-quality wood or wood veneer, with the woodgrain running horizontal, sideways. I'm glad it does not look anything like the fake wood laminate that so much cheap furniture is covered in. However, the inside is a solid brown that looks like the plastic it is. It is not obvious that it is plastic, unless you are standing directly over it in good light, or you pick it up -- it feels like plastic.
We actually prefer plastic for this use, because it can washed throughly. We probably have more wastebaskets than the average household. Our family suffers from allergies. We go through a lot of kleenex on days when allergies are bad, and then there is the occasional cold virus. I hope I'm not grossing you out. We bought the cherrywood-look version of this wastebasket, because I wanted something pretty enough for the family room or living room, but on a budget. The cherrywood color is close enough to teak, that it looks especially good with our mid-century Danish modern style furniture. The type of plastic seems sturdy. It is somewhat thick, and just slightly flexible. It does not seem like that brittle type of plastic, that quickly shatters or cracks. An alternative use for this might be as an umbrella stand.

I was excited to find this on Amazon. I was tempted to purchase a similar wood trash can in cherry at a different website for much more (~$100) just for the appearance. This adds class to my office as opposed to the standard 'office issue' unattractive cans that adorn most offices. I'll likely purchase more for my home.

This is a good sized wastebasket which is softer and more flexible than I expected but that's not a bad thing. I've been asked where I found it. I bought it for a more cosmetically pleasing alternative than the basic white plastic type because it's visible in my living room/home office. I am very satisfied with this purchase and recommend it without reservation.

This waste basket was taller than I expected. I originally got it for a 1/2 bath, but it's sort of too tall for a bathroom. I now have it next to my desk. I really like it. Very sturdy and I really like the way it looks.

Tall, dark, and oh so sexy....I love this trash can. :-) It's even more beautiful than I thought. Arrived in great condition and it turns out the wood-grain inset effect is kind of hematite-silvery, which matched my bedroom decor 100% instead of the 75% I was expecting (plain fake black wood grain). I adore it, and am so glad I've found my perfect match! ;-)

product works good, and holds trash. also its bio degradable. thats a plus i just hope it dosnt degrade on me. the size is perfect. i'm using it to toss my old packaging away in my bedroom. note the can is not a cilinder it's sort of lopsided. thats why only 4 stars. overal though a trash can is just a trash can, and for this price its not to shabby.

This is a bigger than standard and deep basket which might be an issue if you plan on recycling supermarket plastic bags to use inside as the second you put something heavy inside it, the plastic gets undone. It looks decent from the outside and much better than plain garbage baskets but is just a polypropylene (read plastic) waste basket. Good thing is it is easy to clean and will probably last forever (literally). I would consider the price fair.

Good Price, Stout Basket,

This thing is perfect for my office. Adds a touch of class over the previous gray plastic wastebasket, and is just the right size.
The person who said it's "not a cylinder...sort of lopsided" needs to look again. The base (9.5") is SLIGHTLY smaller than the top (10") so it's virtually unnoticeable. Sits straight and true. It almost appears to be made of a wood laminate, so it's thin and lightweight, yet very sturdy. Small fins molded into the interior bottom give it additional rigidity. Tough to get excited over a wastebasket unless you get a lot for your money. This fits that requirement.

Perfect Retro Wastebasket,

This review is from: Umbra Treela 3-Gallon Polypropylene Waste Can, Ebony Wood grain (Kitchen)
Retro, Modern and clean lines. Plastic can that deceptively gives a wood appearance with faux grain. Benefit to it being plastic is that it is easy to clean and can take the beating of my teenage son. Decent size and appropriately priced for the bedroom that I have it placed in. I had taken the time to read through reviews prior to purchasing and found that there really were not any negatives. I am pleased with the purchase of the Umbra Treela wastebasket.
