Product Description

The Diverge double drapery rod set from Umbra simply and cleanly layers two sets of curtain panels in an integrated, easy-to-install configuration that helps control light and privacy. Hang opaque drapery on the front rod and sheers on the back for a traditional look or mix and match colorful sheers and other styles for a modern layered look. Set includes two metal telescoping rods (one 5/8-inch and one 1/2-inch diameter), four cast-metal finials, and two decorative cast-metal double mounting brackets - all in a rich auburn-bronze finish. The double brackets hold the larger in front, 3-3/4 inches from the wall, and the smaller rod behind it, 1-1/2 inches from the wall. Designed to fit a range of window sizes, both rods extend from 88 inches to 120 inches long using auxiliary rods that fits inside the main rods for added length and support. Complete mounting hardware is included. Designed by Thea Yuzyk and Michelle Ivankovic for Umbra - the worldwide leader in casual, contemporary and affordable design for the home.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good value but horrible directions!, May 27, 2010
This review is from: Umbra Diverge 88-Inch-to-120-Inch Double Drapery Rod Set (Kitchen)
I picked this up for $45 from my local Big-Mart after shopping for a double rod at Bedbathandbeyond.

Design is simple but not ugly, not outstanding... just fine. Quietly fits in.

Rod length adjustability:
The large bar comes with 3 sections. As does the small bar.
It comes with the ball ends screwed into what should be the "middle" bar if you need it extended to its fullest. It took me a few minutes to figure this out.
So if you need it say, 110"... you'll need to unscrew all ends. Then the bar that's slightly skinnier than others -- will be your middle bar.

The kit also comes with 3 hooks/holders.

Overall, it was pretty simple to install, looks nice and is a good value compared to the bbb double rods.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad bad experience!!!!, November 15, 2010

This review is from: Umbra Diverge 88-Inch-to-120-Inch Double Drapery Rod Set (Kitchen)
Very poor quality, both rods are pretty thin and are made up of low quality material. The screws inside the brackets provided to tighten and keep the rods in place are so small and not long enough to tighten the rods and therefore are just hanging in their place. Not satisfied at all with my purchase. i purchased a double drapery rod from target for 40 bucks and its nicely built.... thick n strong rods, perfect screws, lesser in price than these and much better in quality. Would not recommend to any one.... try the ones which at sold at target stores!!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Satisfactory double curtain rod, August 25, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Umbra Diverge 88-Inch-to-120-Inch Double Drapery Rod Set (Kitchen)
The biggest plus on this set is the finish, I think. The dark brown metallic finish could pass for black from a distance but is noticeably not black if you're going for a bronze or brown look. I like that versatility.

The biggest negative on this set is its lack of heft and sturdiness. It can definitely support reasonably heavy curtains without sagging too much, but it's not the rock solid product you'd get for a bit more money. We have the shorter set for a smaller window and like it better.

We didn't actually want a double set but have come to appreciate the second rod. It allowed us to buy two sets of narrow curtains rather than one set of really wide curtains. We keep the more decorative curtains on the front rod and the plain curtains on the rear rod. It allows for good window coverage and a fun look.

Would I buy this again? Probably not. But if this is what fits in your budget and you need a wide curtain rod, it's definitely a nice enough product. It adds to the room more than it detracts, for sure. And it's nice that it comes in other sizes for different windows within the same room.
