2.0 out of 5 stars So disappointed...
I've been looking for some unique frames for a spare bedroom of mine, and I was excited to see how this would look with some new beach photos I took. When I received the item, the glass of one of the frames was shattered and broken along the entire length. I really expected better. I did not try to send the item back, so I cannot comment on the service I was offered - I...

from the first time i saw it clicking through amazon, i've pretty much been in love with it.

it's a verra minimalist piece and is actually quite functional, but it is alot of work to put together the first time.

you're going to need a level, drill, rubber gloves, glass cleaner, screw driver and a good amount of patience and willingness for the tendious.

the kit includes little plastic things (the name eludes me) that you're supposed to hammer into the wall and then screw the hooks into. My general contracter said that the frame isn't heavy enough to actually need them, but this may only be true of my house. (we have high grade and heavy drywall, as well as framing; newer house aren't framed always)

anywyas, either way, you'll need the drillbit to make a slightly smaller "snug" hole to either hammer (i keep getting this ezma voice saying that)the plastic things in, or to pre-drill for the actual hooks. it's a pain to try and just manually screw them in (it can be done)

to get the picture in is probably the more tedious process. the way the wires are connected to the piece is by these screws in the back. and you need to take ALL of them off to put in a new picture. Please remember that the front metal bits are not fused to the glass, i.e. they will pop out and try and escape, they usually fit snuggly and won't come out but some are looser. The wire isn't connected either it forms a loop that you slip around the screw tip and bring to the back. [this enables you to technically make the middle one vertical and the side ones horrizontal, their is a tiny Umbra water mark on the middle one, but it's barely noticable.]

but the real tricky part is keeping finger prints and dust from between the glass. if the picture is the same size as the ones inside when you buy, they'll fit perfect and actually be held up by resting on the screws, also it's so tight that it holds it in place.

but you need rubber gloves, a foaming glass cleaner and a dust free clothe to clean it. te rubber gloves are the most important part, because you need to be able to manhandle the glass a bit, even for the eventually put back together. Though make sure the glass is dry before sticking your picture in, it's dust tight, so it's also going to be pretty water tight (to a pointe).

I suggest a foaming cleaner, merely because less water, less dust collection and it's easier to work with.

But this piece is gorgeous and verra satisfing. It stays pretty clean and is easy to take down for cleaning. Tedious woes aside, is pretty fun too.

I love this frame. It compliments the 6 picture frame very well, which I reviewed in more detail. The biggest difference between the 3 and 6 picture frame is this: On the 6 picture frame, the 3 vertical pictures are a smaller size than the 3 horizontal. On this frame, all 3 pictures are 4x6 (standard), so you shouldn't have any problem printing any standard picture.

As others have reviewed, these frames can pick up smudges if you over-handle them. Just make sure you have some windex or something with you, you should be fine.

Absolutely love it. Looks great on the wall. I was skeptical at first based off some of the other reviews, but if you have half a mind, you can figure out how to install this. It wasn't even difficult to change the direction the frames hung from the pole. I love the way pictures look when they are "floating."

I wanted to keep my desk clutter free as possible so I this hanging picture frame works beautifully. And next my Umbra hanging wall clock, they add a little flair to my otherwise mundane office cubicle.

A good looking, attention getting frame set. The quality is good and it looks awesome on the wall. What made it extra special was that we also purchased the Trapeze clock. They really pull the look of the room together. The only drawback is that it is not easy to change the photos. But it's worth the effort for the modern, unique look of the product.

Looks great, works great, but a bit difficult to use. Adding the pictures is quite the process and takes a while.
