This book is excellent for umpires. In addition to the Official Baseball Rules (OBR) and updates, this may be the only other rulebook that you want (I have read many of them). The diagrams for proper positioning are handy and accurate. The descriptions of real-world situations and how to handle them is right on the money. The breakdown of rules into topical areas is some of the best that I have seen. A few of the items are dated, but you will readily see that compared to OBR. From my umpiring perspective, this is the only non-rules book that I highly recommend.
