This review is from: Ni Una Bomba Mas!: Vieques vs. U.S. Navy (Paperback)
Ni una bomba mas is a very complete and up-to-date timelime of the struggle of the people of Vieques for peace. It presents an unbiased account of the events that led to the climax of the struggle and gathers sources of information from the many facets involved in the struggle. The book exposes the views of those involved and like the struggle itself, it brings the outsider into the conflict in the same manner the entire country of Puerto Rico was attracted to join the cause. Puerto Ricans have never been as united behind one cause as they are regarding the cause of Vieques. Ni una bomba mas explains in detail how this came into being and how the world responded by joining and supporting this struggle.
This book is a must for those interested in the history of US intervention in the Caribbean, the study of neo-colonialism, and for those interested in LatinAmerican affairs. |
