Clarity, pure and simple., May 17, 2009
This review is from: The Unadorned Gospel (Perfect Paperback)
While the Christian market is oversaturated with quick-fix approaches and rip-offs that promise you so much reward for so little investment, this book is a breath of fresh air that is very seldom seen. It is the path less traveled, with Mere Christianity by C.S Lewis is probably the only other book I've come across that stems from this same thread.
In plain English, with no false promises, takes a 'back-to-basics' approach to help the reader grasp the fundamentals of Christian faith; Those same fundamentals that so many people overlook or misunderstand which ultimately prevents them from seeing clearly.
Once those fundamentals are understood, the author introduces more complex concepts built on the key fundamentals, but never sacrifices simplicity as the book goes into more depth about what I believe is an honest path to salvation.
Overall, a great, honest approach to understanding the Christian faith, that provides clarity on the issues around us, and a path to Christ. Just like Lewis, the author gives a clear opinion on the faith in a not-in-your-face manner, leaving the reader to either take it or leave it. Just remember that the path to salvation is a difficult one, contrary to the popular myth out there. Luckily, there's a booklike this to make it clearer.
