Ben Folds Five were the US piano-based, indie-rock trio formed by Ben Folds, with bassist Robert Sledge and drummer Darren Jessee.

The band formed in Folds' home state of North Carolina in 1993. In keeping with their humorous approach to music, they took the name Five and released their self-titled debut in 1995.
