So worth the money, August 16, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Unauthorized X-Files Challenge: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Tv's Most Incredible Show (Paperback)
My brother got me this book for my birthday two years ago. It is my bible and my life (kind of sad, actually!) Anyways, it's really good and like that other guy said, if you take a few months to memorize it, you'll the X-Files Genius and you can impress your friends with little tidbits of knowledge. For example, what's Scully's home phone number? I'm not telling.. get it and look it up yourself! Note: good book for diehard fans!

Stumps the Best, October 4, 1997

This review is from: The Unauthorized X-Files Challenge: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Tv's Most Incredible Show (Paperback)
I've always considered myself an X-pert. None of my online friends (or real life for that matter) has ever been able to stump me on X-Files trivia. I'm completely addicted to the show and have 15 books. This one is definately one of the best, pointing out many of the nitpicks and netpicks we've philes have already discovered in addition to new ones that sent me back to look for them. The trivia is extremely difficult and interesting. I recommend this book to all philes who think they know it all. Take a few months to memorize this book and then you will know it all.

Fun trivia for true fans, April 25, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Unauthorized X-Files Challenge: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Tv's Most Incredible Show (Paperback)
If you think you know EVERYTHING about the best show on television, you're wrong. These guys pull up obscure info and quiz you on it, drawing not only from the episodes but from interviews, books, and magazines. This is a great book and a must for an X-Phile's library! My only complaint: after reading Phil Farrand's lighthearted Nitpicker's Guide, the authors of this book seem really critical. I mean, what's up with their review of "War of the Coprophages"? Lighten up! Other than that, of course, diehard fans will cherish this book.

An X-Phile's Treasury, February 18, 1997

Over 1,000 questions from the first three (3) seasons of my favorite TV show in a challenging format to test the gray cells of my brain. How would I describe this book: An X-Files version of JEOPARDY! More than just something to read...a book to play and damn well worth the $$$. I highly recommend it to any die-hard X-Phile

Forget the Rest...This is the Best, February 5, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: The Unauthorized X-Files Challenge: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Tv's Most Incredible Show (Paperback)
The DeClassified X-Files, the 2 Unofficial Companions, and of course, the two official guides, are just reference guides to the show...but this book is the only one to contain trivia challenges, nitpicking, and behind-the-scenes information. What really makes me angry is the fact that all these other authors did books that just covered the first two seasons (for $14) and then brought out another book for just season three and then charged another $14. But THE X-FILES CHALLENGE covers all three seasons for $14. Instead of just reading the same old referenced guide stuff, this book truly challenges your brain. I took it on a recent airline flight and it kept me enthralled for the entire flight...loved it and well worth the money

The Ultimate X-Files Book!!!, November 18, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: The Unauthorized X-Files Challenge: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Tv's Most Incredible Show (Paperback)
X-Philes, this is the one to get and it is moderately priced for those of us with shallow pockets. It covers ALL three seasons and covers each episode in chronological order with a Declassified Case Overview (plot synopsis), nitpicking, trivia (plus X-PERT X-TRA BONUS POINTS for the diehards...and then each episode's coverage ends with a lengthy INVESTIGATIVE FIELD REPORT, which includes cast and crew interviews, behind-the-scenes tidbits (none previously reported in the other two X-Files books), real-life crossover phenomena, critical review of the episode, etc. And in between every 2 or three episodes are lengthy trivia thematic categories such as FBI Service Records on Mulder & Scully (which will challenge any X-phile on their in-depth knowledge of the characters; X-PERT TESTIMONY, which has quotes from the series and the reader has to either fill in the missing dialogue and/or determine who uttered the words, etc.; X-File acronyms which have to be converted to their compound names; lengthy trivia sections covering behind-the-scenes and the stars; S & M (Scullyisms and Mulderisms) sections which have missing dialogue that must be filled in, etc.; MONSTER MASH, which will test the readers' knowledge of Monsters of the Week; THE WRITE STUFF which requires the reader to match the episode writers with the installments they penned; episode rankings by the fans; and lots of other really good X-Files stuff. No TRUE X-Phile should be without this one!!

Fun & Challenging, July 16, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: The Unauthorized X-Files Challenge: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Tv's Most Incredible Show (Paperback)
It seems everybody is doing an episode guide, but this book is different...it is all trivia, behind-the-scenes, and nitpicking. Loads of fun if THE X-FILES is your weekly fix. My son and I used it as a game to keep us occupied on a flight from NYC to San Diego as we tested each other's knowledge of our favorite TV show. I highly recommend this book...Must reading for X-Philes
