Book Description

April 5, 2007
For Kim Woodburn finding fame in her 60s in the smash hit television series How Clean is Your House? with fellow dust-buster Aggie Mackenzie is like living a fairytale. Often she has simply wished that she had never been born, for Kim has overcome horrific emotional and physical abuse both at the hands of her alcoholic mother and her philandering, sexually abusive father. In her brave and revealing story Kim's memories of growing up are not of love and cuddles, but of beatings and random cruelty. Shuttled between the brutal houses of her warring parents, a succession of miserable children's homes and a grim convent -- Kim's past has cast a long shadow over her life. But just before her sixteenth birthday she finally made her escape. It has taken decades of hard work, and a wonderfully happy marriage to conquer depression but now she has emerged unbowed and unbeaten as Britain's Queen of Clean.

If you love Kim Woodburn from How clean is your house, you need to get this book. Once you start it you will be not be able to put it down.
From a terrible childhood, to a horrible first marriage, to her wonderful life now. To see her on the televsion, you would never know how tragic her life was, before meeting her current husband and getting her own show.

I admire this great lady and would love to meet her someday. She is an inspiration to all women.

Thank you Kim.
God Bless

Since watching "How Clean is Your House", I've admired both Kim & Aggie...even more so when I read what Kim has overcome in her life. She is an inspiration and I respect her a great deal. It is sad what she's had to live through but, thank God, she's had positive outcomes.

5.0 out of 5 stars She Cleans to Conquer!, June 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Unbeaten (Paperback)
For anyone who is an admirer of Kim Woodburn, this book is a must read. It's also valuable to anyone who has survived an abusive childhood. Kim tells the story of how she survived a dreadful childhood, a dreadful first marriage and, somehow, managed to create a very successful cleaning career. When I first saw Kim present on How Clean Is Your House?, I thought she was a delightful and strong woman with a terrific sense of humor who really knew how to clean. Unbeaten really illuminates Kim's character. I have an immense amount of admiration for this woman.
