Dr. MacDonald has devoted his career to helping people with severe and disabling forms of chronic pain and fibromyalgia. He is well-known for his caring approach, his deep understanding of how chronic pain affects people's lives and for his work as an expert witness in court.

Dr. MacDonald is a psychologist with a special interest in health and rehabilitation. He is particularly interested in helping people cope with physical health problems and the many stresses that can be caused by medical illness and injuries. He has completed a four-year degree at the University of Toronto . He then went on to complete a two-year Masters degree, and finally a four-year Ph.D. degree, both at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada.

In addition to hospital work, Dr. MacDonald runs a private practice group with his wife. Over 90% of their patients suffer from chronic pain and fibromyalgia, caused mostly by car or work accidents.
