I was looking for something else when I ran across FireFlight. I am often reluctant to buy Christian music because it appears to me that the message is often placed before the quality of the music. This is not the case here. Quality rock with a good message. It's almost strange to get an uplifting message when much of what is put out today is just the opposite. Great music and great buy.

This is album is the stuff of legends. You can expect to hear catchy rock riffs laid down with a unique, enjoyable guitar tone. Dawn Richardson's singing is irreplaceable because her voice is a perfect fit for bright, edgy music. Her lyrics are inspiring and powerfully relevant to the hurt and the broken who look for hope and freedom in Christ from all the pain and uncontrolled behaviors in their lives.

I liked almost every second of this album the first time I listened to it. Lyrically and musically this album has more hooks than a tackle box, and I'm certain this album is on its way to winning a Dove Award. There is no need for uncertainty; just go ahead and buy this album and see for yourself how good it is.

Fireflight offers upbeat, rocking Christian music that combines sensible, positive lyrics with music you can feel and appreciate for its artistic quality. The songs vary in style, but all are great. Perfect for your ipod for the car or running, etc.

I'm not Christian. The majority of "Christian pop" makes me gag at the unoriginality and the figurative beating over the head with the message. So it was with some surprise that when Fireflight's "Unbreakable" came up in my Pandora/Within Temptation stream and I was rocking out to it I learned that they're a Christian band. Pandora supplied a few more songs and I ended up buying the CD.

Fireflight doesn't have the dirge-like grind of Evanescence nor the teen angst of Paramore, the bands that most compare them to. Their sound is at once bright and heavy with hopeful lyrics. God is occasionally mentioned but not emphasized. Vocalist Dawn Richardson doesn't have the strongest voice but it's very emotional and there's moments where she reminds me of Pat Benatar. If you're a fan of female-fronted rock bands Fireflight is a nice surprise, and they could easily cross over into the mainstream without compromising their beliefs.

I just have to say there is true musical talent here. The guitar, drums, keyboard, and range of vocals is...wow. I am big on music and come from a family of music producers. From a non-christian point of view, this band is solid and I wish them much success for years to come. From a christian point of view, these lyrics reach across religious lines. It's goodness. It's good. Just listen.

I'm editing this review. Yeah, I made a bonehead mistake of writing a review for the wrong album. D'oh. I'm pleased with the 2nd album. It doesn't have quite as much energy as the first, and the songs aren't quite sticking with me like the first cd did. I'm not sure why. They're good songs. Maybe I'm getting older? Naw. I still love Disciple and Red. Either way, if you liked the first release you should like this one. If you liked this album but haven't gotten the first, I strongly encourage you to do so.

Are you ready for this? 2006 introduced us to hard rock band Fireflight with their first release The Healing of Harms, a bounding success. The band's follow up album Unbreakable is quite the same victory. Straight off from their single of the same name, "Unbreakable", it hit primetime TV as the theme song to NBC's Bionic Woman. And Fireflight doesn't stop there. Visit the website www.iamunbreakable.com and read about fans and individual's accounts of what the song means to them. After a while you will start to understand the power of just one of Fireflight's songs from this album.

On this sophomore project, Fireflight just lets the hits keep coming. Known for their heavy rock anthems and howling vocals, the music gets the heart pounding on tracks such as "You Gave Me a Promise" and "The Hunger". You had better hold on tight though, songs like "Forever" and "Wrapped Up in Your Arms" start out soft and mellow, but then give into slamming rock ballads that show off Fireflight's talent and passion.

The band's truths in their lyrics are clear and uplifting as in the song "Brand New Day", which connects our lives with Christ, who leads the way for us. With deep meaning and spiritual effectiveness, Fireflight has the unique ability to refresh and restart listener's uncertain or faltering faith in God. Lead singer Dawn Richardson belts out the lyrics in a fiery manner proving her fervor for the Lord and showing that a woman's inner beliefs can overpower any doubting in Jesus name.

Unbreakable is an explosion of music for those who need a radical change or just want to praise the Lord in rocking fashion. Fans of this band will have no problem picking up where The Healing of Harms took off, but new listeners will be introduced to great music with powerful messages. Fireflight seems to have laid down a giant step in their career with this album, one that will carry them to top with hits like these.

I had never heard of Fireflight until I was watching the Winter X games last month and they had a snippet of their song/video Unbreakable. As soon as I heard that song, I was hooked and had to get the CD. I will be honest, I figured the CD would be ok and not very good, but I was wrong. The entire CD is very good. It has grown on me more and more and I have been listening to it in my car for the last month. I just wish they were touring in my local area but they are at Kings Dominion in VA in July which isnt far from me. I would love to see them live. Wish they would come to the infamous 930 Club in DC. I think I will give their debut CD a try soon as well, but this CD is very good with great beats, lyrics and sound. It isnt very long but it is worth trying!

I'm always lerking around Amazon searching for my next musical gem, Unbreakable is one of those such finds. The fact that you haven't heard anything off this album on your local Alternative or Pop radio station shows a flaw in the way programmers choose what they play today. But that's a rant for another forum. Unbreakable is an excellent album, one of those rare albums where I don't have to skip a single track. I would describe Fireflight on this album as Power Pop leaning toward Alternative. Some of their chops remind me of Trapt except Fireflight is more versatile and has an incredible female singer in Dawn Richardson. Her vocals fill this collection of songs full of powerful emotion. Any song on this album could have been selected for a single, they are powerful, energetic and well written, and in my opinion, that good. Fireflight has packaged into Unbreakable a collection of infectious highly likeable tunes that will effect you some how whether it makes you tap your toe, sway your body or just get lost in the depths of Richardson's reach into a place she brings those powerful vocals from. Give Unbreakable a listen I can't imagine you being disappointed.

I noticed in the tags that Fireflight is labeled "Christian Rock". I personally don't mind that. Maybe that's the reason this album isn't getting it's just attention. For good or bad, depending on how you look at it, or what you want out of it, the lyrics on Unbreakable are not obvious to the fact the band is Christion Rock. I own albums by other "Christian Rock" bands such as Casting Crowns and some lyrics are obviously trying to convey a Christian or Bible based message. I feel Unbreakable has been skillfully crafted in such a way that the lyrics could appeal to a mainstream audience without offending anyone while keeping with a positive message.

It's always going to be hard for a band to top a debut as loved as Fireflight's The Healing of Harms, yet that's exactly the task Fireflight had to tackle with Unbreakable. So how did they fair? Far better than could have been expected is how.

Way #1 to top your debut: Create buzz.
There wasn't a lot mind you, but they set up a website (a pretty cool one at that), iamunbreakable.com. This gained the appropriate attention amongst fans and word of mouth.

Way #2: Create better--more crushing--music.
My God the breakdowns! If you have a system in your car, Unbreakable is definitely a CD you'll wanna test out for yourself. The Hunger, Stand Up, and So Help Me God are all tunes that pushed the envelope that Fireflight had successfully created originally into a new, better, direction.

Way #3: Make sure the lyrics mature, yet stay relevent.
Well, actually, title explains it all.

Those are the three main 'new' qualities brought to the table this time around. Holding steady at amazing is Dawn's excellent, demanding, vocals. The two halfway ballads, Forever and Wrapped In Your Arms introduce the famed rock ballads into Fireflight's catalog. Oddly enough, those are probably my two favorites too.

So! In my humble opinion, Fireflight destroys their debut with Unbreakable. It's almost like The Healing of Harms was laying the groundwork for Unbreakable to come in and prove beyond a shadow of a doubt, that yes, Fireflight is for real. Highly recommended.
