1.0 out of 5 stars Commercial Garbage
Three 6 Mafia's first 3 major releases (Mystic Stylez, The End, and Chapter 2) were all good albums. After that they fell off. It's sad really, they got caught up in commercial appeal, and the money involved in it. Ever since then, all of their albums have sounded the same. The funny thing is, even though they changed their style and line up, they still never really...

After more than 3 years since their last album and more than 2 years of waiting on a new one, The Three 6 Mafia finally drop Da Unbreakables on the world. I been listening to this non stop since I picked this up at about 7 o'clock. Lets start with the production-FIE! Nothing but top notch tracks from Paul and Juice (2 of the best producers in the game today). The best beats are from "Ridin Spinners" and "Bin Laden". The lyrics-Paul and Lord shine over all as usual. Juice has really improved. After hearing some of the verses he dropped on Lil Wytes album and the Paul solo, I was beginning to loose hope for him but he came strong on this one. Crunchy still does his regular stuff-simple rhymes and short bars. BUT it works for him, not too many folks can pull that off. The guests-Pimp C from UGK is on a track. Funny thing, his verse was taken from a La Chat song. And from what I can tell Chat is no longer with the HCP camp (makes me happy, always hated her). Lil Wyte is on a handfull of songs, along with Project Pat. I'm assuming they took verses he recorded earlier and were never used. Pat also recorded a phone call from prison that comes on before his song. Something that made me real happy with this-Paul and Juice finally responded to T-Rock and all the junk he's been saying. Although they never say him by name its pretty evident who they're talking about.
Hottest Tracks
-They Bout To Find Yo Body (Great intro to this talking bout the artists Three 6 put on and now diss them)
-F. That S. (Classic Three 6 hook on this on, it gets you rowdy with quikness)
-Testin My Gangsta
-Bin Laden
-Ridin Spinners (although I liked the original version much better with Lil Wyte)
-Lets Start A Riot (Paul speaks on T-Rock and its a great beat)
-Dangerous Posse
-Outro (Paul and Juice never dissapoint me with there outros. I'm gonna keep listening to this for a while, always good for a laugh)
If I could change one thing about this disk-put Boo and Koopsta back on. I know and understand why Boo left but Koopsta?! They never even talked about that so I'm assuming he either had personal problems or he left and they have no beef, which is good.
Pound for pound-this album is great. Not as good as When The Smoke Clears, but real good. The only song I'm not digging too much is Ghetto Chick. Any Three 6 fans out there-PICK THIS UP! We been waiting years and its finally here. Now I'm just waiting on the solo's and Cashing Checks. HCP Fool.

5.0 out of 5 stars They still got it, June 24, 2003
This review is from: Da Unbreakables (Audio CD)
After a long wait and numerous delays, the biggest question was whether Three 6 Mafia's new album would retain the same quality they have always had. Though not their best album, Da Unbreakables is definately worth a wait and a must for any Three 6 Mafia fans. Overall it has more of a "club" feel than their other albums, but this isn't a bad thing at all because the songs don't get repetative.

They Bout To Find Yo Body - Introduction song of all the members
F*** That S*** - Catchy song, club feel
Wolf Wolf - Crunk style bass, good song
Testin' My Gangsta - Another song with a club feel, upbeat
Bin Laden - Typical 3-6 style, one of the best songs on the album
Ridin' Spinners - Good song
Try Somethin' - Another really good song with Project Pat
Money Didn't Change Me - Slower song with piano line
Ghetto Chick - Another slower song, IMO worst song on album
Shake Dat Jelly - Another catchy song
Let's Start A Riot - Another good club song
Rainbow Colors - This really good song has a very Southern feel to it with it slowed down and 'screwed' a bit.
Like A Pimp (Remix) - Not a remix of David Banner's song, but of Like A Pimp off of Juicy J's album. Either way another good song
Beatem To Da Floor - Nice beat, good song
Put Cha D. In Her Mouth - Really nice beat, one of the best songs
Mosh Pit - Another club song, nice beat
You Scared Part II - Good song, typical 3 6 style
Dangerous Posse - Really good song with everyone from HCP

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Da Unbreakables (Audio CD)
The 4 man Memphis crew comes out tight with "da unbreakables". I only have 2 of their albums, and I like this slightly better then "Most Known Unknown" but both are worthy of 4 stars. With 18 songs you get a lot of the Memphis group. Guests are minimal and all from the south as well, appearing on 4 songs and doing hooks on 2 others. You get some fight songs, some smoking songs and some club and ladies songs, nothing much new to the formula but if it works don't switch it up. Of the 18, 2 are almost classics, 7 are good, 4 or 5 are ok and 4 or 5 I skip over. Production is tight as is expected, and handled by Juicy J & DJ Paul. a nice album for their fans or fans of southern rap to have.

#1 - 8
#2- 8.5 (tight beat -- fight song)
#3 - 7
#4 - 8
#5 - 9.5 (about smokin' - great beat)
#6 - 8. 5(f/ lil Fliop -- nice beat)
#7 - 5.5 (f/ project Pat)
#8 - 8.5 (about how money changes some -- good beat)
#9 - 6.5
#10 - 3.5 (very annoying song)
#11 - 8 (another fight song)
#12 - 2 (f/ lil Flip -- I hate screwed up versions of songs)
#13 - 7.5 (f/ Project Pat & a recycled Pimp C verse -- free Pimp C!)
#14 - 6
15 - 4.5
#16 - 8.5 (f/ liL Wyte & josey Scott of Saliva -- pumped song about mosh pits)
#17 - 7
#18 - 9.5 (f/ Frayser Boy & LiL Wyte -- great beat)

JUICY J -- Jordan Houston
DJ PAUL -- Paul Beauregard
LORD INFAMOUS -- Darnell Carlton
CRUNCHY BLACK -- R. Dunigan

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good for a 2003 Release, December 27, 2004
By
This review is from: Da Unbreakables (Audio CD)
This cd was pretty good for a commercial album. Most of the stuff they have on the radio today disappoints me. But anyway, this album was pretty good. My favorite tracks are:
-They Bout To Find Yo Body
-F* Dat S*
-Testin My Gangsta
-Bin Ladin (Classic Three 6 song)
-Try Somethin (With an old Project Pat verse)
-Let's Start A Riot (A remake of a classic Kingpin Skinny Pimp song, DJ Paul also disses T Rock)
-Rainbow Colors (Real tight cause it's screwed & chopped)
-Like A Pimp Remix (Features Pimp C)
-Beatem To Da Floor
-Put Cha D. In Her Mouth
-You Scared Pt. 2
-Dangerous Posse
All in all this is a good cd, but not their best. If you are new to three 6, go pick up Mystic Stylez, The End, and Chapter 2: World Domination. Those are their best cd's. I recommend this cd to anybody who is tired of rappers talking about their money and being a "Balla Baby".

5.0 out of 5 stars Triple Six does it again, February 14, 2004
By
This review is from: Da Unbreakables (Audio CD)
BUY THIS CD! This is totally worth the money. If you are a big rap fan, like me, and have never heard of Triple 6, you really need to get yourself to the store and get Da Unbreakables. If you like rappers like Ice Cube, Mack 10, Big Tymers, and Juvenile, you need to try Three 6 Mafia.

Anyway, in my opinion, Da Unbreakables is one of Three 6's best CDs with songs like "Bin Laden", "Let's Start a Riot", "Dangerous Posse" (Just to name a few). Unfortunately, the only people missing are T-Rock, La Chat, and Gangsta Boo. Other than that sad bit of news, this is a GREAT CD!

If you have heard and liked this CD, You should also check out some other Triple Six albums such as:

When the Smoke Clears
Choices

or try these artists

Project Pat: Layin the Smack Down
Gangsta Boo: Both Worlds *69
La Chat: Murder She Spoke

1.0 out of 5 stars Commercial Garbage, January 20, 2004

Three 6 Mafia's first 3 major releases (Mystic Stylez, The End, and Chapter 2) were all good albums. After that they fell off. It's sad really, they got caught up in commercial appeal, and the money involved in it. Ever since then, all of their albums have sounded the same. The funny thing is, even though they changed their style and line up, they still never really broke into the TRL mainstream (most artists on TRL are crap anyway, so they would fit in perfectly).
If you buy this album, you are supporting some terrible artists (if you can call them that) that are only making music for profit. They should be making music for the love of it, plain and simple. If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. Suppport real hip-hop. Peace.

5.0 out of 5 stars Guaranteed To Please, July 26, 2003
By
This review is from: Da Unbreakables (Audio CD)
At first listen i did not like this album. I was only looking for the get crunk songs and found three that I loved and a couple others that were also pleasing. I must say that this is prolly one of the better ones for those who didn't like the overly long crowded songs that they have had in the past. I also believed that everybody came with their top lyrics and beats to make sure their true fans were pleased(and I was). I am also pleased at how Lord Infamous stepped up. In past cds he was my least fav. of the group but on this one i see he fits them perfectly. If you are a new fan of HCP/triple six mafia/tear the club up thugs, then you should definitely get this album. It is the most commercial but it still has that underground feel that we all love. P.S. If you don't have it pick up the project pat album "Laying the smack down" and Lil Wyte "Doubt Me Now".

Espy "Espy" (melbourne, australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Da Unbreakables (Audio CD)
This is the first and only three 6 mafia i got becoz it is hard 2 find there albums where im from in stores but i have got project pats mistadontplay which is also a fantastic album, for a long time i had a negative view of three 6 mafia because of their previous beef with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, but once they released the song stay high it helped me change my view on them and i had heard the song ridin spinners which i thought was tight so i went out and bought the record and it is now one of my favourite south albums, so many of the songs on this are tight weith very few weak songs, the rappin is sick and grimmey and the beats are banging. Highly reccomended as a album 2 get if you dont know much about three 6 mafia and want to see what they are like
My favourite tracks if i had to pick are-
-wolf wolf
-bin laden
-ridin spinners
-rainbow colors
-mosh pit
-and my favourite track on the album "you scared part2"
