5.0 out of 5 stars Another killer ending
Do you know that feeling where your heart is pounding, you pulse is racing, your stomach twisting in knots, and your adrenaline pumping? All of the six jedi apprentice books have done that to me, and this one is no exception. As an eighteen year old college student, I am well out of the age range, but I not only love these books, I have also gotten my twenty year old...

3.0 out of 5 stars The worst of the series
I love the Jedi Apprentace series, but this one I was dissapointed with. The setting was in the dark horror trenches of war. Inocent people get killed, and it really leaves you hanging at the end. I would not recomend this perticular book of the series to a young child. Anyone who thinks Obi-Wan Kenobi is rad will deffinetly hate this book. It potrays Obi-Wan and...

5.0 out of 5 stars Another killer ending, January 24, 2000

This review is from: The Uncertain Path (Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, Book 6) (Paperback)
Do you know that feeling where your heart is pounding, you pulse is racing, your stomach twisting in knots, and your adrenaline pumping? All of the six jedi apprentice books have done that to me, and this one is no exception. As an eighteen year old college student, I am well out of the age range, but I not only love these books, I have also gotten my twenty year old roomate hooked on them. My one major problem is the relationship between Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan forgave Guerra for betraying him on Bandomeer and almost getting him killed. He also forgave Jono and Nield. I think its time for Qui-Gon to learn another lesson from his padawan, especially since its partly his fault Obi-Wan left. This book adds a depth to both characters that didnt really exist before. Obi-Wan realizes that he is not complete without Qui-Gon, and Qui-Gon begins to realize how much Obi-Wan means to him. They are meant for each other, but they make it so hard for themselves. It also allows us a deeper look into the temple, and the problems there. Its a wonderful book, with great characters who grab your heart and wont let go.

5.0 out of 5 stars yet another _good_ to be continued..., January 14, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Uncertain Path (Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, Book 6) (Paperback)
if you are familliar with the series, this book will only reinforce your love of Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon. I found myself on pins and needles towrds the end, Obi-Wan really grows up in this book and realizes who/what he is - a JEDI! The best part is we get to see Qui-Gon interacting with other jedi, which _really_ helps to flesh him out even more. The only problem i had with this book is that it was too short (as were the other 5)...if only they would make this an adult series! but its still one of the best series out there for the old school jedi faction of star wars fans... :) read it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!, March 27, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Uncertain Path (Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, Book 6) (Paperback)
This book was awesome. The whole series is great and I can't wait for the next installment. I read this on the way home from school and I realized that this is one book that can really touch you. The realationships between the characters are so complex that you can almost think of the next move they will make. In my opinion Tahl is really cool, Cerasi almost had me in tears, Roenni showed real friendship, Qui-Gon realized that Obi-Wan is just a kid and that you can't give up on kids, Neild learned that you can't trust everybody and Obi-Wan realized what he was... This book has only one fault... it's too short. (And please don't let the age range keep you from buying this book- I'm over the "limit" and I love these books.)

5.0 out of 5 stars "Yipee!", January 29, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Uncertain Path (Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, Book 6) (Paperback)
Yet again, another wonderful, suspenseful read for this well - beyond - the - recommended - age - range reader. These books may be written for a younger audience, but they are better crafted than a lot of adult science fiction I've read, and the content is far from watered down. War, death, betrayal... some pretty intense themes! I wish I had been fortunate enough to have such a series when I was in that 9-12 range, though I am pleased I can enjoy them as an adult. I wonder if Watson and Lucas are aware that these books have such an enthusiastic adult following. If so, they should consider letting Watson write a few longer novels about Qui-gon and Obi-wan's relationship. Once again, my only complaint about this series is that the books are too short. A quick, thrilling hour's read, and then another two months of waiting. Arrggggg!

5.0 out of 5 stars Compelling to read!, January 20, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Uncertain Path (Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, Book 6) (Paperback)
I would like to add to the other reviews. The Jedi Apprentice books are wonderful because we all know what will happen in "The Phantom Menace". And yet, these books are written in such a way that you are uncertain about the futures of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn. "The Uncertain Path" has all the elements of a Action/Mystery story and is very compelling to read. The characters are portrayed in a very human and Jedi fashion. Most importantly, this book is entertaining.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yet another excellent job by Jude Watson, January 23, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Uncertain Path (Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, Book 6) (Paperback)
Book 6 in the Jedi Apprentice series is suspenceful, emotional, and all in all interesting. I've read the other 5 and this one I could not put down. Jude Watson writes so you feel the emotions the characters feel, you feel happy when they do and you feel sad when they do. it wouldn't hurt for the books to be a little longer but other than that I think all of them are great and I can't wait till the 7th comes out. Even though you know what happens in the end, in Episod 1, these books make you feel like you're not sure if that is what really will happen. I constantly find myself convincing myself that every thing will work out. These are excellent books and I suggest them to anyone who likes Star Wars, or Sci-fi

5.0 out of 5 stars CHARACTERIZATION MATTERS!, January 21, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Uncertain Path (Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, Book 6) (Paperback)
Wonderful! I can't say enough good things about this book or about the series. Why do we have to wait so long between books? I find myself completely enthralled with the emerging relationship between the young Padawan and his Master and every installment gives me a new appreciation for them as they appear in The Phantom Menace. Any chance Jude Watson will get to write any of the adult SW books? <hint hint> (not that the "Young Adult" label has kept this 30something from devouring this series!)

5.0 out of 5 stars JEDI APPRENTICE NEEDS 100+ STARS!, February 5, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Uncertain Path (Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, Book 6) (Paperback)
This book was too good. Jude Watson really knows how to write.I could not beieve the things Qui-Gon said to Yoda aboutObi-Wan. Qui-Gon blames Obi-Wan for what happened.

On Melida/Daan, Obi-Wan is a leader of the planet. Most of the time he is glad he left the Jedi to help the Young, but when Nield becomes angry at Obi-Wan and-- well I won't tell who-- dies, he calls Qui-Gon, telling him things are out of control.

Then there is Tahl (who is very funny) and her navigation droid, TooJay, who calls Tahl "sir". I think Qui-Gon and Tahl make a good team. And Obi-Wan and Cerasi.... if you haven't read this book yet, you don't know what you're missing. As usual, Jude Watson leaves you hanging.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Can't Wait!!!, January 24, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Uncertain Path (Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, Book 6) (Paperback)
Another nail biting, tear jerking installment in the Jedi Apprentice series. And Jude Watson isn't letting up. The end leaves you craving the next chapter as much as the end of 5. Obi-Wan is my favorite Star Wars character and I've found there's far too little written about him. This series wets my appetite. I would love to see an adult series written around Obi-Wan. Perhaps the new series beginning in May 2000 will be the answer. Till then I await No 7 eagerly.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great Read!, January 23, 2000
This review is from: The Uncertain Path (Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, Book 6) (Paperback)
I'll admit it straight off, I am not exactly a young reader. Let's say I'm young at heart. I adore this whole series. This one had me in tears at times. The author has captured the characters so beautifully. And even although we do know that they become Master and pupil, it's hard not to worry right now. I think this relationship building is great and gives you real insight into both characters. I also enjoyed the other characters in this book. Cerasi was a very special character, as was her Father. I also like the fact, that although the books are written for a younger audience, they don't exclude us oldies. I can't wait for the next one.
