4.0 out of 5 stars Should have won a Grammy!, November 2, 2001

Too bad Joe Cocker's "Unchain My Heart" is out of print. This cd sold many copies, so it should not be difficult to obtain a copy via e-bay, Amazon or your used cd store. Producer Charlie Midnight really gets Joe into overdrive with the title track, "Rivers Rising" and "Satisfied". As was stated in his behind the music special on VH-1 "Joe is singing like a man 25 years younger and seems indestructible" The tune 'Unchain My Heart" was nominated for a Grammy award in the rock category and it should have won! There is no way anyone on that grammy voting team can convince me that Bruce Springsteens "Tunnel Of Love" deserved to win. As a matter of fact, Joe was so good during the eighties he was nominated for a grammy three times for "Unchain My Heart", "You Can Leave Your Hat On" and "When The Night Comes. The great Ray Charles after hearing "Unchain My Heart" called Joe Cocker "My only true disciple". Need I say more!

If 1986's'Cocker'-a decent album, conformed thoroughly to the trends of the eighties,'Unchain My Heart'can safely be considered a definitive album for Cocker's career, achieving the golden mean between trend and lasting musical quality. In prime vocal form,Cocker delivered a stunning melange of soul, blues, rhytm, all permeated by passion and emotion. This is a must for any Joe Cocker fan!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic (oh, there's a typo), November 12, 2009
This review is from: Unchain My Heart (Audio CD)
Fantastic album but note the typo: track #2 is actually "Two Wrongs (Can Make a Right). Doesn't that make more sense for Joe?

Joe Cocker's timeless voice and gutsy resonance always rings with conviction. It is obvious that his personal life is now free of drugs and he can give his all to his music.
