1.0 out of 5 stars Fraud: Page-A-Day Minus 52
For many years now, I have been buying Uncle John's Page-A-Day Bathroom Reader for myself and giving it to relatives as gifts. Everybody gets such a kick out of it. You can imagine my surprise this year when our mainstay Page-A-Day calendar combined Saturdays and Sundays. For someone like me who thinks Page-A-Day means Page-A-Day, this is outright fraud...

For someone like me who thinks Page-A-Day means Page-A-Day, this is outright fraud.

This year's "cute" round shape adds nothing. This year's micro thin paper adds nothing. But this year's subtraction of Sundays means I will never buy the calendar again.

I guess the folks at Workman Publishing now define "Page-A-Day" as "anything we make." I wonder at the greed that led them to take a superior product, substitute appearance for substance, and ruin it. It's such a shame!

Bought this for my brother, he can't go a day without flipping the page. He even saves the pages for future reference. Well worth the price. Will buy again for next year.

If you enjoy trivia as much as I do, then this is the ONLY page-a-day calendar that you'll ever want. Uncle John has been putting out these calendars for several years now, as well as their numerous books which are equally entertaining. But this is definitely a cut above most trivia calendars. Because there is more to them than "just trivia". So much more.

Besides the trivia you would expect, there are also entries of little known facts, curious statistics, obscure historical references, odd biographies, and origins of things you might not really want to even know about. But they present it all in such a fun fashion that you can't help but want to read on.

One word of caution, though. In previous years, buying the calendar also offered you the opportunity to get the online version, delivered every day to your inbox, for free. Sad to say the 2010 version does not give you that option. And that's a pity. I'd be willing to pay for it, but that's not an option either. So if you want your daily dose of useless information, the powers that be at Uncle John's require that you buy your own in their stylish, diecut version.

My 17 year old nephew was very pleased with this and thought it was the greatest. It was sent to me very quickly too.
