DirectionsStove Top: Preferred Method - 1. Combine 2-1/4 cups water and 1 tbsp butter or margarine (optional) into a medium saucepan. 2. Stir in rice and contents of seasoning packet. Bring to a boil. 3. Cover tightly, reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. 4. Remove from heat. Let stand covered for 5 minutes or until desired consistency. Stir before serving. Microwave Directions: 1. Combine rice, contents of seasoning packet, 2-1/4 cups hot water and tbsp butter or margarine (optional) in a 2-quart microwave-safe glass dish. 2. Cover loosely and microwave on high (full power) 5 minutes. 3. Reduce heat to medium (50% power) and microwave 10-12 minutes, or until most of the water is absorbed. 4. Remove from oven. Let stand covered 5 minutes or until desired consistency. Stir before serving. Microwave ovens vary. Times given are approximate. Chef's Tips: For a cheesier, creamier taste, use 1-1/4 cups water and 1 cup milk instead of 2-1/4 cups water in stove top cooking directions. For Two Boxes Use: 4 Cups water and 2 tbsp butter or margarine (optional).
