Specifically bought this wooden block set because the Uncle Goose company carries the German wood blocks for a reasonable price. In addition, I wanted to note that I also support products made in the USA.

The embossed capital alphabets have nice bright colors (blue, green, yellow and red) and are non-toxic. At 7 months, my daughter has no trouble holding one block in each hand and enjoys knocking them together. They are of good quality, quite durable and will last for a long time.

Suggestions:

1) Why not sell these German wooden blocks with a wooden storage box that has a sliding lid?

2) Why not emboss the smaller alphabets on the opposite side of the capital alphabets on each block? (and why are the embossed colored blocks not a complete alphabet set?)

3) The animal illustrations are wonderful but why not go according to the alphabet sequence you have on the opposite of each block? (e.g. A = Apfel, B = Baum, etc.)

I found them a few months ago, But they were out of stock . Two weeks ago they came back in .I'm so happy too .They are beautiful . Very well made . Thinking about getting the ones in English now .

I bought these for my son to maybe use in videos for his German class - I was thinking for spelling out things using blocks. These are finely crafted and I was so happy to find them made in the USA. These are for sure the same quality of blocks many of us had as children, and if taken care of, will stand the test of time! The cut of the wood, the engraving, and the painting are all first class. This is a great gift for your children or grandchildren - and for toddlers, the blocks are too big to get swallowed.
