These are outstanding blocks, they are very well put together and the color is vibrant and has stood up to several months of playtime without issue. At the time we purchased the blocks there was not much info on the build of the blocks so when they arrived we did a bit more research and here is something helpful directly from the webpage of the company who makes these

"With Safety being our number one concern we would like to respond to the continuing concerns over lead paint in the manufacture of toys.

Uncle Goose™ would like to reassure all customers that our alphabet blocks and all other products are made to exceed all voluntary and mandatory standards for lead content in toys. We produce 100% of our products within our factory in Grand Rapids, allowing us to control the entire process from wood milling and inspection through to shipping.

*Our products are made from replenishable Michigan grown, Kiln-dried Basswood.
*We use non-toxic, child-safe inks with the added safety of being independently tested for lead before their use.
*CPSIA Compliant — ASTM-F963 / EN-71 Compliant
*We have eight points of inspection in our process that insures high quality and we are constantly working to improve."

All in all, we couldn't be more happy with these blocks and will definitely order more from this company

The blocks are great with one exception: the symbols for the elements that don't have official names are written incorrectly. All chemical symbols begin with an upper case letter. Uuo, NOT uuo. It may not seem important to some people, but it is to this chemistry teacher!

My 3-year-old son has photographic memory and start to remember very weird stuff such as the color of each alphabet and the pattern of the alphabet piles in his Chicka chicka boom boom book. So I thought instead of letting him remember those useless things, why not letting him memorize the periodic table. I bought a periodic table poster and this block set for him and he loves them! He would go through the elements on the periodic table one by one while looking for the block of the elements. These wood blocks are well made and the paint quality is superb.

So we got this for our friend's son who is just under 2 years old. It'll be years before he understand them and I guess we could have gotten one with numbers and the alphabet on it but one of the parents is a biochemist so we thought they'd get a kick out of this gift for their son.

The wood blocks are solid construction and the paint is child friendly (as it says on the package). These are high quality, solid, wood blocks and will last for years most likely. They also say Made in the USA on them. We're happy with the purchase.

Seriously, how could you not love these blocks? Inspired by her love of her periodic table of elements t-shirt (which says, "I wear this shirt periodically" Ha!) I bought these blocks for my daughter on her 6th birthday. It's my way of introducing another element of science (pun intended) into her academic diet. The cool bonus is that she can keep these into adulthood, as they'll never be outgrown.
Blocks are painted wood, and have a nice feel. Highly recommended.

These blocks are well made from solid tight grained hardwood. The paint on seems very durable as well. They should last a long time. Even though my son is too young to understand what the mean they still make perfect building blocks and should make for a great educational tool in the future. Net stop, Electron, Proton and Neutron blocks =).

Only issue is that the pictures depicted two colorations of blocks, so I wasn't sure which one I was going to get.

5 stars.
