Just wanted to leave a quick note regarding the fonts used. I was a bit worried because a previous reviewer said that the blocks used Latin fonts to mimic Russian letters. Now that I have these blocks in my hands, I would say I disagree. The letters are normal Russian letters - although it's not the smoothest font, I think that that's because of the limitations of carving straight angles into the wood. In the end, the letters are clear and easy to read and correct Russian letters which is what I've wanted for my little one.

The overall quality is also very good. I am generally not big on wooden blocks - they always look so bland next to the brighter plastic toys - but for what it is, they are very well made. The size is medium... a bit big for my two-year old's hands but will be ideal for 3-year olds and older. I also think they look a bit better than the photo... the picture makes the letters look fuzzy but they are actually quite sharp.

At first these blocks look beautiful but as you start looking at them closely some paint had dried smudged. Also, it looks like Latin letters were used for Cyrillic ones. For the price one would expect perfection.

We received these cubes a couple of years ago as a gift and I was surprised to find them here on Amazon when I needed a gift for Russian little cousins this Christmas season. The quality of these cubes is superb - 2 years later they are still as good as new. The wood does not chip and the paint did not come off. We are extremely pleased and will recommend them to all of our friends.

I knocked one star off just because they are not really all that colorful. Brighter colors attract toddlers so much more. But they are as advertised. Nicely crafted durable blocks. My 17mo likes them.

I bought these blocks as a gift for my newborn nephew. His mother is from Kazakhstan and both his parents speak Russian. They were very surprised and pleased to receive these blocks as they have few Russian language items for their son. The blocks seem durable and are visually attractive, very colorful and painted well. They are a larger size than the classic ABC blocks I own. Though my nephew cannot play with them yet, I know they are already a favorite toy (at least from his parents' perspective) and will be used for play and for teaching the Russian alphabet.

Looked everywhere for wooden blocks with Russian letters for over a year until finally found these. None of the Russian stores in the NY area or the Russian-language websites located in US sell these. Very happy with the quality.

We got these blocks for our children three years ago. First they were block to stuck, then to build more complicated elements. Later we built the alphabet trains sorting letters and numbers. Now we are putting basic words together. It seems like these blocks are a tool for endless ideas! I love them, my children love them and we think they are great as a present.

This is an excellent product for play and teaching your children the Russian alphabet. It is well made in the U.S.A. It is also just a good set of blocks for play.

My son absolutely loved these blocks. The colors, the animals, and the shapes-these are very well designed. I would suggest however not to purchase them for younger children (my son is 2) as they apparently also taste great. He kind of chewed a couple of them up pretty badly while he was teething (probably a concern with pets as well). Other than that, I would still highly recommend these blocks.

It was very hard to find Russian blocks. These are great quality, even ordered two more as presents.

I searched for a year in Russia and couldn't find any blocks of equal quality. If you start distributing in Russia, you might make a lot of $$$.
