This book is a quick read that will have you wanting to buy more Bathroom Reader books. If you have never read one of these books, this is the place to start. Short articles are appropriate for when you have a quick job to do, and the longer ones are for more industrious visits to the restroom. Trivia abounds galore in this book and it is for anyone who has a love for useless inforation. You quickly gain an appreciation for the minds that put this book together. Only a certain type of people could possibly be this creative. If you are looking for a present for the friend who has everything, one of these books would be a great choice. You may even end up keeping it for yourself.

Uncle John's Second Bathroom Reader is a great book when #2 is really on your mind. From cover to cover this book has tons of: trivia, answers to the inane, and things that you've probably heard before but forgot all about it.

Anyone who has any allusions of trying to get on a TV trivia show (like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire) will definately want to familiarize themself with the writings of Uncle John. It's helped me expand my knowledge base greatly. I've also loved books like "5087 Trivia Questions and Answers" and "American Trivia", but Uncle John managed to keep me laughing while filling my head with facts. Frankly, I didn't want to leave the bathroom.

All that time wasted sitting on the john. If only there was something good to read....

This sequel to the hugely successful "Bathroom Reader" contains more of the same useless, but interesting, trivia and facts on just about every imaginable subject. From debunking rumors (like "Dr. Pepper's secret ingredient is prune juice) to explaining how Alfred Hitchcock shot that famous shower scene, you won't want to put this book down even after you've finished your business.

It hardly seems that there was a time before Uncle Johns's Bathroom Readers;but there was.In those ancient times ,actually only about 20 years ago ,it was Time Magazine,Reader's Digest and the Mail Order Catalogues that served the important task of improving one's mind while taking care of other body necessities.Here in Canada,the Government,in it's usual fashion, screwed up our reading material.They passed laws that required Magazines to have so much Canadian content that Time and RD subscriptions resulted in "Canadian Editions" ,but these were so mediocre that I cancelled my subscriptions all together and haven't read them since,except when visiting my son in Chicago ,where he still gets the good U.S Editions.Thanks to Uncle John ,my time is still well spent and his Readers fill an essential need.

This "Second" Reader was published in 1989,and even though it is small,only 224 pages,it was good for its time.

Of all the things Uncle John has done,he has continued to improve with these Readers,but also to keep reprinting the older editions;so that when you go to your favorite bookstore,you find a whole section of these books,and can find those you may have missed over the years.

The interesting thing about reading one of these earliest Editions is that one wonders what could possibly talked about in the many more editions that followed.Fear not;they just keep getting bigger and better.

I have been a fan of "Ripley's Believe It or Not!" since the 1940's;and it is simply amazing that both of these two series of books and great staffs,have continued to thrive and entertain and educate us;while so many other have run out of steam and withered on the vine.

Keep up the flow;you are doing a great job..no pun intended!!

These "Bathroom" books are great anywhere.

Read them anywhere you like.

You never knew so much stuff existed.
