You have to give the Bathroom Readers' Institute credit. Twenty-odd years ago they hit on a winning formula and haven't looked back since. Thousands of pages later here comes version 21, all 541 pages of it! And, just like its predecessors, it delivers the goods - tons of quirky yet fascinating facts and bits of trivia.

As with other Bathroom Readers, BRI has divided the info into categories such as Bathroom Lore, Fads & Flops, Sports, Origins, Forgotten History and Creatures Features along with new categories like Canadiana. Features are broken down into Short (Quick Read), Medium (2-3 pages), Long and Extended.

It's probably just me but I couldn't work up the same enthusiasm I once had for the latest Bathroom Reader, hence the 4 star rating. As much as I enjoyed much of the book, I have to admit I skipped some sections. Maybe just a case of Bathroom Reader Burn-out!?!

Having said that, I don't doubt trivia buffs, lifelong learners, etc. will enjoy this latest offering of odd yet interesting info. Recommended.

As always, another piece of great literature for serious reading in the bathroom or out on the front deck. My whole family loves sharing much of the trivia and some of the commonly unknown facts about anything and everything. I really enjoy watching my kiddies reading away on their own and I'm often treated to some quiet laughter or something like this, "I never knew this," or "I can expand this and use it on my class project," or "I wanna tell my friends about this." Good stuff and darned entertaining. Keep the paper rolling....!

uncle john's readers are always filled with information that you never knew about or add a side of a story you thought you knew but didn't. just wish i could remember every reader i've read, i'd be a wealth of useless information.

I got this book for my husband for Christmas. We have purchased every Uncle John's Bathroom Reader so far. This one is just as enjoyable as all of the others. Lots of interesting information!

It's hard to believe they can deliever such an entertaining product year after year. I've been a Uncle John's reader for many years. Uncle John's Unsinkable is one of the best I've read. My only regret is that I have finished this book. Now I must wait for the next book to come out!
Basically my review is...If you've read any of the Uncle John's series and enjoyed them, you won't go wrong with this edition!

I gave this book as a gift to a loved one, after a trip to a bookstore during which he couldn't put it down. When I got it for him (via Amazon of course) he read through it so fast, and liked it so much, it actually got him back into reading in general - a hobby he'd kind of put down for many years as life got too busy.

If anyone you know likes trivia, the stories behind life, or the History Channel, this will be right up their alley.

The only down side? If you live with the person you're giving the book to, you may be bombarded with conversations that begin with "Can you believe this?" or "Isn't this funny???" which is fun for like the first 3 days, after that, I had to ask him to limit the # of stories per day he'd share. Haha!

Also, obviously the title is probably more geared toward guys, which may make what I'm about to say obvious, but seriously, men love this book. When my guy was done with it, he lent it to every man in his office and they all loved it too.

I came across this series at a friend's little private room, you know the one. I loved it and read it over the next few days. Lots of trivia, funny stories, odds and ends.

So I recently bought this "Unsinkable Bathroom Reader" as a gift for him. Of course I read it cover to cover first, then skimmed back through to review the better parts again, before giving it to him.

If you are looking at this review, you're probably already famaliar with the series. This is another great addition. I very much enjoyed it.

This book taught me, "When Life Gives You Lemons...Shut Up and Eat Your Lemons"

I never get bored of reading all of the little quips and stories that appear in Uncle John's Readers....Makes you say 'Really?'. None of them boring, all of them surprising and fun to read. Nothing very long in the readers they are all fairly short features in each book. Easy to pick up and read just a tad, then put it down until you can read it again. Stories are not in specific order, so you can skip all around, pick and choose...it all still makes sense and is good fun.
I doubt there is anyone who can find bad things to say about a fun book like this.

Interesting book with something for anyone. I enjoy that the stores range from short to long so you can find the right amount to read for whatever you feel. I know these books are advertised for a certain room of the house, however, I enjoy reading this book before bed because when you get tired your always close to a stopping point.

Uncle Joh's Unsinkable Bathroom is a fun book to add to your collection collection. Easy to read and full of a unique combination of information. Full of humor with a little bit of trivia and tips added, this is a great book for your winter reading. Definitely recommend.
