Uncle Lionel's voice and delivery is as cool and sweet as an iced tea, on a shady porch, on hot Southeast Louisiana day. Packed full of lively 'old school' classics, it's joy to listen to. This New Orleans icon can still deliver, proving once again, he is not only a man of impeccable taste, but a rare talent that's hard to find in this day and age. Encore Uncle Lionel Please!

I purchased this CD primarily because clarinetist Evan Christopher is one of the musicians backing Uncle Lionel. The recording is enjoyable, but does feature the singing of Lionel Batiste, as one might expect. Thus, the clarinet shines only occasionally.
