I was blown away by this stock once I got it. I have a 22 caliber amt lightning that has almost the same stock. I have been very happy with the amt, so I thought what the hell, let me pick up this folder for my 12 gauge. Well, the shotgun stock is just a little bit heavier duty, but just as comfortable. A friend had a plastic side folder that was much cheaper and hurt your shooting hand badly. I couldn't shoot more than a dozen slugs before handing back the weapon. This stock is beefy and comfortable. No issues here. And my mossberg works great both folded and open. I wish we had this stock on our 590's we used in the corps. I would even feel comfortable using this on a weapon that you may have to fix bayonet on. that says something.

This Uncle Mikes Folding Stock fit perfectly on a Mossberg 500 Persuader and works well in both the open and folded positions. Here are my observations:

Pros:
+ Easy to Use; simple push button to fold and unfold the stock
+ Works Well; good support when extended and folds clear of ejection port and trigger
+ Good Looking; matches the metal and looks like it "belongs"

Cons:
- Needs two different sized hex wrenches to install (not included)
- Instructions are not as clear as they could be, but it still only took about 20 minutes to complete

Misc:
* It seems unnatural to dissemble the mechanism to install and reassemble, but it does help understand what it supposed to look like when properly configured
* Can also be installed as just the pistol grip without the folder attachment and includes an end-cap to give it a professional look
* Includes "Sling Stud" on left side of pistol grip (not optimal for me, being left-handed)

This is a very good accessory and provides great flexibility for the 500/590.

I got this stock about a year ago and waited to write the review till I got to use it a few times. The install was pretty easy and it looks great. Very easy to use. It makes my Mossberg a lot easier to store. The down side is the folding mechanisms for the stock is right were your thumb knuckle would rest. It's a square piece of metal. So after 5 rounds your thumb knuckle starts to hurt from grinding against it. I used a piece of foam tape to keep this from getting too uncomfortable. I also got a recoil pad for it. The pad that is on it does nothing for your shoulder. After I put the Limb Saver on (great product by the way) the recoil was better but then the stock seemed too long and made it a little awkward to handle. I am currently looking in to an adjustable stock to replace this one. I like being able to store my shotgun more easily but I really would like it to more comfortable to shoot.

Simply put, this stock works as well as I expected it to and hoped it would. I am not a fan of the top folding stocks or conventional non-folding/adjustable stocks for one of my particular guns. I was in search of the perfect side folding stock for my Mossberg 500 JIC. To begin with, it comes neatly packed and ready to install. With a few hex wrenches and some patience, the end product is great. The Grip, alone, is better than the OEM. Next the folding stock folds and locks in both open and close position perfectly. It is very rugged and feels very solid in either position. Also, it looks like it was made for the weapon. It does not interfere in any way with any of the guns parts or the users operation. It opens and retracts at the push of a button. The stick length, although not adjustable, is perfect for me (I am average). The butt pad is also comfortable. This is exactly the folding stock I was looking for. So my recommendations, if your needs are the same as mine and you can live without an adjustable stock, this is your piece!

This item is not an Uncle Mike's product, it is a Butler Creek. The item generally sales for the price on Amazon, so there is no huge savings. After recieving the item I noticed it was not the brand advertised and I decided to give it a try. It was not hard to install, just a couple of alan bolts. After seeing how it felt in my hands the pin started to fail and the stock would not operate properly. I have sent the item back and waiting to see if the seller is going to refund my money. Purchsae at your own risk.

I put this on my Mossberg 500 8-Shot. I wanted to keep the pistol grip as well as have a stock when I needed it. I preferred this kind compared to others out there. It seems pretty sturdy and was fairly quick to install too. If you put this on with a shell holder and/or a sight rail it will look pretty bad ass. When I'm at the range people always want to check it out and shoot it. I would highly recommend this over other folding stocks out there. This one is all metal except for the grip. You definitely want to avoid anything made of plastic.

I got the item, opened it, and realized they had shorted me parts. I was missing the main screw that attaches the aluminum "T" to the rest of the gun. The pistol grip required some shaving to get it to fit correctly and snug, and the so called "blued" steel had some sections of rust on it, and one of the steel rails appeared to be slightly bent. Pretty disappointed with this product, especially since other reviewers were so glowingly happy about it. Yeah, I could have just gotten a lemon, but I would not buy this again...

Bought this stock so that I can take my shotgun with me hunting on my motorcycle. Other stocks that I lookedat were either very expensive, or they were affordible, but made cheaply. This stock cuts 13 inches from my gun, it is a solid stock when swung out, and I am glad that I bought it. Amazon was amazing. I had the stock within 24 hours, I was shocked to get it so soon. Overall, a great experience, a win win.

The Uncle Mikes Steel Shotgun Folding Stock is a great addition to your shotgun. I bought this stock to replace a ATI folding stock, that while "tacticool" was not so practical in actual use.
After installing this stock my shotgun felt much lighter and far more usable. The stock feels strong and adds balance to your shotgun. When folded it does not rattle around, and when extended it feels stiff and confident. Another welcomed attribute is the pistol grip. It just seems to fit my medium sized hands nicely, and the angle is well thought out. Good work Uncle Mikes!

After much research I am very happy to report this Uncle Mikes Steel Folding Stock is a fantastic accessory that will not break the bank. If you are thinking about a folding stock, and want something strong, light and well made, then look no further. You will not regret your purchase.
