5.0 out of 5 stars Holster Excellence!
I wanted a hip holster for my 44 Magnum Raging Bull, with the 8 3/8 barrel. Most of the holsters I found were pretty expensive. Uncle Mike's holsters are very fairly priced, so I decided to try it out.

First, the holster arrived very quickly to my house, which is always a bonus. I was very impressed with the quality of the holster. The nylon is thicker...

3.0 out of 5 stars Retaining Strap is a PAIN
Overall, this is a nice holster for the price. However, the retaining strap is the pits. It is too wide and too long. I have played around with the straps and can't find a good way to use them and still be able to get the gun out quickly. As a result, I am now considering cutting the stinking straps off.

5.0 out of 5 stars Holster Excellence!, December 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

The nylon is thicker than I had imagined, and seems very rugged. The stitching is thick, neat, and straight. Additionally, every piece of stitching on the holster is double-stitched. The belt loop is solidly stitched to the holster, and I have no worries about it's integrity. The button for the adjustable retaining strap is quite impressive; it requires more effort to fasten and unfasten than common buttons. I am extremely impressed with the overall quality and workmanship of this holster. I cannot honestly think of one negative thing to say about it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fit my XD 9!!, December 23, 2008
Nice fit for my Springfield Armory XD 9 Service!! Much better at protecting the gun than the XD Gear holster that came with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good fit for a Browning Buckmark Hunter, January 31, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have a Browning Buckmark Hunter, which has a 7 1/4" barrel. I went to several local sporting goods stores and even called browning to see if there was a browning brand available holster for this model. I had no luck finding any, especially in a left-hand model. After reading a forum online, I was directed to Uncle Mike's size 9, even though Uncle Mike's website doesn't specifically match this size for this gun. The browning buckmark hunter model fits great in this holster.

1.0 out of 5 stars ONE SIZE DOEN NOT FIT ALL!!, January 16, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Uncle Mike's Sidekick Hip Holster (Misc.)
Using the size chart Uncle Mike provides I ordered (and returned) a #6 holster for my Ruger MkII. I can only describe the fit as dismal: the holster was 2" to 3" longer than my gun's barrel. Obviously the #6 holster was designed to fit a multitude of guns albeit poorly! Which leads me to wonder why Uncle Mike's does not have an application chart for specific guns. After all, how hard would that be to program in their website? My recommendation is to physically verify the fit to any gun before buying an Uncle Mike's holster or use a brand that assigns specific holsters to fit specific guns.
"One size fits all" is a guarantee of a poor fit!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great holster for .22-magnium, November 17, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
When I got this gun from a relative, it was in a Uncle Mike's (left-handed) holster. Since I am right handed, I order the same size (5) for the gun. It sure fits my Ruger .22-Mag like a glove. It keeps the gun in the holster, fits on my belt (a little tight), and still easy enough to pull it out quickly if needed. No complaints so far. For the price of these, it very worth the purchase!

5.0 out of 5 stars usp compact holster, November 5, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
for a simple, inexpensive and practical holster for the h&k usp compact 9/40' this by far is the best i've found. tried galco, blackhawk and bianchi, but settled on this for daily use. it fits like a glove, stays close to the body, keeping profile low. can't go wrong with this considering its price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Uncle Mike does it again, October 16, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Purchased this holster not knowing how it would work with my revolver,my gun fits great in the holster. The strap is perfect, but needs to be shortened a bit, but that will be an easy task. In all it is a great holster and would advise anyone who wants to purchase good holsters at a great price to go with Uncle Mikes.

3.0 out of 5 stars Rides too high for long barreled revolvers, September 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Uncle Mike's Sidekick Hip Holster (Misc.)
I do not like this holster. I'm returning it to Amazon.

The belt loop is plastic as shown in Mary J. Toth's picture. This makes it difficult to slip on a belt. (I tried it on a 1.25" harness leather belt.) This holster rides high. I bought this for a Ruger Old Army which has a 7.5 inch barrel. It's difficult to draw and to reinsert the revolver back in the holster.

There is no strap adjustment tool and the holster does not have a thumb break. For those with smaller handguns, this holster cannot be worn inside the waistband as stated in the description.

Other than that the holster is well made.
