This is the perfect size for the Lego Star Wars clocks.

We put it together and the light is so faint you can't see it in a dark closet.

All the little pieces come apart/fall off pretty easily.

Another example of producing junk, with deceptive advertising and cheap production values.

The light is barely, barely visible, even in a dark closet.

Thanks for giving our child a disappointing present, and adding more garbage to the world.

Educational value: zero. Entertainment value: zero.

I bought this for my 4 year old son. He actually liked playing with it a lot, but after a few hours of playing, the button to turn on the light stopped working. My son liked it a lot, so a few months later I picked up another one just for the heck of it thinking that the first time was probably caused by my son breaking the button, but the same thing happened. I wonder if they even tried testing this toy with kids...

The toy itself is good. BUT -- My son was absolutely giddy with delight when he figured out this lightsaber, when assembled, actually fits into the hand of his Lego Star Wars Darth Vader minifig alarm clock! It's not really meant to, and not advertised or created that way, but a really neat coincidence! If you're looking for the alarm clock, the model number is 9002113, manufacturer is ClicTime, it's sized about 8" tall.

After reading all the reviews, I didn't have great expectations. But I went ahead and bought it for my Star Wars-crazed 7 year old son. He couldn't have been more excited when he opened it for Christmas. Assembly was fairly straightforward, and we discovered (not surprisingly) that the light was VERY dim...in fact, so dim that it was barely noticeable in a dark room. I decided to buy new batteries (which only cost a few dollars online), and after battery replacement, the light was quite bright, and plenty visible even in daylight. I did notice that one of the original batteries appeared to have some corrosion, which may have been why the light was so dim out of the box.

Also, the exchangeable colored light "chips" which are inserted in the side of the handle to change the color of the blade are adequately secure. None of them are so loose that they fall out, although they probably could have designed them so that they would snap in place more securely. Still, none of them have fallen out, even as my son waves it about. He likes changing out the colors, as he assumes various Star Wars character roles.

It is a decent toy!

My 7 year old grandson has really enjoyed this little toy. When I say "little" I mean little........hence the term "mini". The first day he lost the saber part...but we found a straw that fit in the end and he has continued to play with it on a daily basis. (In fact, I think the straw works better....)
The pieces are small, so be prepared to keep a zip lock baggie around to store the parts in.

Got this for my 5 year old grandson. He was able to put it together on his own using the picture. Rated the toy high for education value for that reason. Not sure that he absorbed much on the color issues which the toy was supposed to illustrate. The parts are easily manipulated and simple to assemble. The light saber stood up to a 5 year old's hard usage. Recommend.

My son played with it for about a day and was bored with it the next. It has to be really dark to get any kind of real light sabre lighting effect and other than the challenge of assembly and tear down there is not much fun to be had with this toy.

I bought two of these for my boys (7yrs & 5yrs) and they LOVE it. It is easy to build and really cool to play with. It has the 4 different lights so you can choose what character you want to be. They also used them for little "night lights". I would recommend to anyone.
