1.0 out of 5 stars Total Disappointment, December 31, 2008
= Durability:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
My brother bought this Star Theatre for my 10 year old daughter. What a joke. She wants me to put a shelf up in her room 3 feet from the ceiling so she can actually SEE the diagrams. As mentioned in other reviews, what appears on the ceiling is a blur. My daughter is very disappointed.
Misleading product. Agree with others, nothing but an expensive night light.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not A Good Planetarium, But Real Neat Night Light, December 25, 2006
My mom got this for my son for Christmas. What a disappointment.

First of all, let me say, the packaging is great, the idea is great, and the extras (an audio CD giving commentary and a software package are cool) are pretty neat, but for what it's worth, you could get a better effect with a flash light and a mirror ball for what this does.

The stars appear as smudges of light on the ceiling. I'm sure if I put this thing on a platform around 6 foot high, the focus would be better. But as it stands, it's just a bunch of lights on the ceiling and walls.

My son does enjoy the little meteor flashlight and enjoyed simulating meteors flying across the sky.

It has a night light option, but I didn't feel like installing the batteries. I think the whole thing would make a great night light.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the quality I thought..., December 26, 2008

I acutally bought this on another site and paid much more for it (grrr!) Just trying to put this thing together started to wear the tread for the screws, so I can tell that over time as we switch views that there's going to be a problem. It also needs several batteries for each section that lights. Very blurry projection unless you can get it closer to the ceiling. My eight year old seems to enjoy it though. The CD/DVD is more enjoyable than the actual theatre. Like another reviewer said - great in theory, bombs on execution.

1.0 out of 5 stars Really bad!, December 15, 2008
= Durability:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This manufacturer has a slew of bad products! I purchased this product for a six year old and the constellations are drawn in connect-the-dots fashion and projected onto your ceiling. If you are looking for something that looks realistic DON'T BUY THIS!

I am a really surprised with Amazon. I haven't really had a bad experience yet this I would have to say is a disappointing. The base night light does not work. Yes,I went out a bought brandy new batteries. The cord that was supposed to come with wasn't in it. In fact a black marker was used to blacken the words: 6V Adaptor. What marble? Where is this marble? There are finger prints on the star globe. Most importantly, the "super bright" halogen light that is supposed to be bright enough to cast an image on the ceiling does come close. Its almost as if the light is near burn out. My daughter has a squishy Turtle star displayer, that I can put on the floor and the stars (in 3 colors no doubt) display perfectly on the ceiling above. This you have to hold right up to the wall or ceiling. What's the story here??

2.0 out of 5 stars Not what you expect, December 14, 2009

My seven year old son loves space and stars. He got this gift for Christmas last year, and we were very disappointed. You need a room with nothing on the ceiling as well as the walls to get the full effect. It is very blurry. We just look at the ball with the names on it and don't even use the projection part. My kids use the meteor maker to play with the cat. It is not worth the money if you want something educational.

1.0 out of 5 stars This thing sucks., December 8, 2009

This product is absolutely useless. The lightbulb seems much too small at first glance. Turns out, a first glance is all you need. With the cover the stars are not visible unless the surface you plan to project on is less than four feet away. Without the cover, a hazy light is projected even less distance. I hate this total waste of money. Please don't make the same mistake I did and read the reviews for this all around hated product. Don't buy it.

I bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas because we are into astrology and I thought it would be neat to sit in living room and look at the starts on the walls and ceilings.
Not well made as far as I'm concerned. Parts were actually missing I believe. And the images are so hazy or blurry that you can't make it out. DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING THIS WILL WARN EVERYONE and MAY RETURN ITEM!

1.0 out of 5 stars Extremely Disappointing, July 11, 2011
= Durability:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Uncle Milton Star Theater SE (Toy)
I thought this was supposed to be like a planetarium. What a joke! My son loves astronomy, and I bought this for his birthday. It is the most disappointing thing we have ever bought for our kids. My three year old likes to hold the light like a flashlight, but that's about it. There aren't any "stars", just dots to show constellations. They are so blurry that you have to hold the light very close to the ceiling to make anything out. There is absolutely nothing at all to resemble a night sky.
